Good morning everyone, nice and sunny here, still cool though.
I have mixed feelings about seeing the tulips so early, as with mine, they are a pretty sight but for me too soon. Most of the other bulbs haven't flowered yet. Yes the miniature Iris have been and gone and some crocus are out but appart from some Tete a Tete very few of the narcissi have flowered yet. Mind you if you saw GW last night they showed a garden in the south of the IOW where some plants are practically flowering all year.!!

      Good morning,

It’s looking a lovely day so far. I hope it stays dry as I’ve got some potting up to do later once I’ve been to the GC for some compost.

Such a pretty colour tulip @Ante1. Glad you’ve got your windows in.

Enjoy your trip to the GC @Ladybird4. I wonder what else might jump into your basket?

I’ll be surprised if I only come back home with compost.

Rugby and recordings of F1 for OH today, so I’m going to go into the city and have a wander round the shops. I was nearly ready to get the early bus but I hadn’t finished my coffee and was having to rush my cereal, so I’ll get the next one, only hourly round here. I must make a list of shops to look in, I don’t go in very often so I’ll make the most of it.
Still only 5C here but sunny. I bought a load of stuff in the garden centre yesterday, several bags of compost, seed trays for my new propagator, and a couple of trailing petunias for the hanging basket, or maybe the trough thing on the wall.
I have several plants to get into the ground. I’m afraid I’m very guilty of getting tempted by pretty things, and then struggling to decide where to put them. I should at least transfer them into proper pots so they don’t languish while I’m making up my mind.

Afternoon everyone. Aunty duties today so really enjoyed that. We walked round the garden and spotted numerous hedgehog droppings, so I must look outside this evening to see if I can spot any hedgehogs. We were doing some detective work to work out where they might be living and based on the droppings we think they are either behind the pond in (you’ve guessed it…) a hedge, or maybe under the shed.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday - gardening, garden centre-ing, sport watching, sport dodging and anything else.

This morning I did more painting of kitchen cupboards.

I finished weeding and mulching the Jewel bed this afternoon.
It was cold today and grey, will be colder tomorrow.

Hello all, been very busy with family stuff but managed a few hours in the garden, colder than last weekend but lovely in the sunshine. I cut back lots of horrible brambles and tidied another area. Getting there! I find even in my small garden I have to divide the areas and concentrate on one at a time I am very easily distracted.

Been out to Goodnestone Park Gardens today. I didn't expect to see much colour, and was pleasantly surprised to find the Japanese Camellias giving a lovely display.

Here's a few of the blooms.

@Debs64 I have to agree about being easily distracted in the garden. I seem to lose all 'method' as my attention wanders over all the place. I don't get too worried about it though as gardens are always evolving. I have spent most of this afternoon riveted to the rugby. England played out of their skins - yay! Then I had to do one of my most unfavourite jobs of all time - i.e. wrestling my duvet back into its clean cover! Then the pillows refused to cooperate until I beat them into submission. Got the France v Scotland match on now. France just have to get a win to be outright winners of the 6 Nations for this year.
@Fourmerkland, you pictures are wonderful - thank you for sharing them with us. I must post the picture of one of my camellia's flowers, which so far has not been turned into teabags by the frosts.

This camellia in my garden is called 'Donation' and is now over 40 years old. It is as tall as the house and is smothered in flowers every year.

We have a camellia Donation in our garden. It was in a big tub and too heavy to move, so was ‘donated’ to us by the previous owners of our house. Very appropriate! We also have some of those really tiny daffodils. They come up so far from the house that we can’t see them, and are so small that they fade into insignificance. Every spring, I carefully dig up any I find, and have been transplanting them into my new snowdrops patch by the front steps.
My trip into town was very uneventful. I didn’t see much I fancied buying, and the couple of things that did catch my eye were rejected because they were made in China. The big Boots on the high street has been revamped since I was last there, and I couldn’t find my way around. If I’d been tempted to treat myself to a new lipstick, I’d have to trawl through at least twenty different brand counters, each staffed by scary looking assistants wearing rather too much make up. I beat a hasty retreat. Came home with nothing more than a pack of vitamins, and no desire to visit again in the near future. I must be getting old, I can remember enjoying a full days shopping, and almost having to be slung out at closing time.

What a nice surprise for you @Ergates and, as you say, an appropriate name! Well it seems that France have done it and I am too tired to see the end of this match. I think I'll call it a day and wish you all a good night. Catch up with you all tomorrow.
