Changed my mind about going to the city - journey too long. I'll drive to the Gemini retail park near Warrington instead. Journey less than half the time so I can be there and back again quite quickly.

One of our double glazing salesmen said his company could replace the seven windows we want done (including a large bay window), in just two days, with a team of two people.
Was that an April Fool, on 31st March?

Probably correct @Fourmerkland , we had 9 windows, a set of patio doors and two external doors replaced by a team of four people in ONE day:rolleyespink:

            Good morning all.

We will do the weekly shop at the SM today. I am running out of compost again. I'll get some at the SM, for the veg garden.

Gardening this afternoon in the vegetable garden. It was so sunny and warm that I gardened in a T shirt, not a jumper. I prepared the bed for the peas yesterday, weeded, dug in compost to the clay soil. The peas have germinated in their pots.

Good morning all. Sun is shining and it’s my day off so a whole day of gardening beckons. Today I will tackle the middle section of the garden and get the greenhouse tidied up.

Hope you’re not too sore this morning @Penny_Forthem

Work this morning and then catching up with an old friend over lunch. Not sure what we will be eating as she is on an extremely restrictive diet to try and combat her arthritis but she’s insisted on me going for lunch. From what she’s said, it seems to be meat, meat, meat and little else

Our final activity of the day is going to see our granddaughter in Peter Pan. One of her after school clubs is drama and they put on a performance each term. All under 7s so lots of fluffed lines, daydreaming missed cues and waving at Mum in the audience but fun to see.

Looks like another gloriously sunny day, yesterday was like a summers day.

Hope everyone has a good day x

                  Morning.
I woke to a glorious sunrise at 6.15 then slept till 9.15. Got up, came down and let dogs out but couldn't make coffee. Found a coffee bag, which will have to do.
Will start to get systems in place now.
Need some appropriate new easy to wear clothes. M and S online it is.

Just had the community team in to assess putting a rail in up the stairs on the right hand side. To say they're on the ball is an understatement.

                      Good Morning all.

I expect your list of things that are difficult to do with one arm out of action is growing @Penny_Forthem. I hope you are doing ok.

Another day catching up on jobs, gardening, and washing anything that doesn’t move.

                      Have a good day everyone.

Hello everyone. It's another beautiful sunny day here but yesterday I was indoors at all day patch club learning to crochet. I managed a strip of training stitches and then a lumpy granny square - but we know why so easily fixed. So many ways to go wrong in crochet!

Today we have a fierce NE wind which is making it feel very cold so I will content myself with watering all the big outdoor pots along the south facing wall and then checking on the chooks. I'm saving my energy for double dance class this evening after a disturbed night.

I was woken by the noise of the ceramic kibble bowl being pushed along the tiled bathroom floor by a strange pussycat who was clearly famished as he also cleaned a metal bowl of wet food. Didn't see who it was as it scarpered back out the catflap, hissing, when I went to investigate. Didn't spray but has left a bit of a pong so floor and surface steam cleaning needed.

Have a lovely day everyone and enjoy the sunshine if you can. Stair rail sounds good @Penny_Forthem

                          :wow:

One of our quotes reckons 3-4 days with two teams of two, while the other says 2 days with one team of two.

Is one of them slapdash, working long hours or mega-efficient, or is the other one slow, work short days or careful?

Has anyone recently had windows installed (not 11) by Anglian or Britelite? I won't say which one is quoting which time!

Good afternoon everyone, lovely sun but cold wind so not as good as yesterday. Went to our favourite GC to mostly to get a bit more mulch as the Ton bag I had in Autumn wasn't quite enough, just one bed to do. Has anyone else noticed how much everything has gone up. Not that we needed much else but we always have a good look in case anything catches our eye. Even small "starter bedding packs " that you need to protect and grow on , was nearly ten quid. I had to pay £20 for 3 X 50litre mulch. If I had space to keep the excess another Ton bag delivered would be much cheaper pro-rata. Ah well.

We've just bought a dozen bags of horse poo @Allotment Boy as none of the horsey places here offers ripe manure. It's more expensive than last year but not by much as we collected it.

@Tui34 this is a link for the muffin recipe - Keto Raspberry Muffins Recipe with Lemon Glaze The first time I used raspberries and it was too soggy so this time I used blueberries and an extra spoonful of coconut flour. I also cooked them in cupcake cases in a metal tin rather than in the rubbery muffin tray.

@Fourmerkland, have you any neighbours you could ask about recent window installations? Often the best place to get reliable reviews of the work done. I would ask both the firms quoting if the people actually doing the work are directly employed by the firms or subcontracted. A friend had a very bad experience with one of the ‘big’ window companies, who brought in subcontractors to build a conservatory for her. All sorts of problems, and what made it worse was that the guys doing the work insisted on only talking to her husband. Had to have strong words with Head Office, especially as she was the one actually paying for the work! I’d also be very wary of any company wanting a lot of money up front.
@Obelix-Vendée, I read the bit about the horse poo in your post, then went and read the recipe for the muffins. Somehow I cannot now disassociate the two items in my mind, and the muffins have suddenly lost their appeal!
The green bins are filled and down by the road. Now I can start potting on my sunflower seedlings, they are looking a bit tall and straggly. I might start some more off.
