Evening folks. Busy with this and that today. I bought some sunflower seeds today, after my niece suggested they would look good in my garden. I have done them before, but they needed some supports to help buffer the wind, which was a faff. I have bought a dwarf variety in traditional yellow (Little Dorrit), and some tall ones which are in rich colours of oranges and burgundy (Evening Sun). I also found some Strawflower seeds (Helichrysum) as I had a plant last year which I loved. Must sow them all tomorrow.

Plenty going on with all of you so take care and enjoy any sunshine while it lasts.

Off to visit my Bestie this morning. Lots of tea, coffee and gossip. @Busy-Lizzie, that sounds like the best ever type of meeting to me!
Note to self: do not forget Bestie's tomato plants!

Good morning all. Off to work in a bit then going to my youngest daughter’s old house to clean. It’s rented so needs to be left clean and she has enough on her plate with her new house to organise and a 4 year old, she is six months pregnant and newly single too so it’s a lot. I hate housework but needs must. My OH has helped her with assembling furniture and putting up shelves etc as well as the actual move so I need to do my bit.
I use that company @Ladybird4 for my groceries and would definitely recommend them.
Sun is shining again here hope you all have a good day

Good morning everyone! Lovely picture @Ladybird4 this morning.

No sun. No wind. No rain. Still and grey.

Got aggressed on our bike run yesterday morning by a Great Pyrenean Mountain Dog that lives at the bottom of the hill. She's usually tied up, poor thing. Anyway, I call out STOP and put my hand out behind me - she listens but Fizz is so frightened she barks and barks at her and she got Fizz around the neck. I yelled STOP STOP and got off my bike. The PMD let go and Fizz fled like a rocket home. That was the end of the walk. Fizz was waiting at the gate and was rather glum all day - I got the feeling she was a bit P...s..d off for not protecting me. She's good to go this morning. PS No blood or teeth marks on her neck.

Lots to get done this morning. So I wish you all a good day.

I LOVE that delivery company @Ladybird4 @Debs64 @Butterfly6 and used to use them all the time but since we moved to North Wales we are, literally, 200 yards beyond their delivery limit. 200 yards!!! Think they are getting sick of me frequently badgering them about extending their route ever so slightly:scratch:

                  Morning. T'was an uncomfortable night.
We have someone fitting a new banister for me, so I can get upstairs independently. I really cannot fault the health board for their OT care.
My fuchsia plugs arrived yesterday, so they must be potted up today. Hub wants to put up the workbench on the patio by the g'house and, while it's a good idea in theory, it is in full sun, so we need a parasol. In April!

Oh my goodness @Tui34, I would have been distraught and would probably have hit the big dog with anything to hand. I am glad to read that Fizz is all right - lots of tlc and reassurance for her.
@Bluejayway, how very annoying is that for you! Keep badgering! @Penny_Forthem don't be going mad today with your assessment coming up tomorrow. Advanced level gardening for your Hub today??
Right I'm off now so I'll catch up with you all later.

Morning all, sorry to hear about your bad night @Penny_Forthem, hope you get your fuchsia plugs sorted. I have been known to do some potting up on the dining room table whilst OH was away! Can't remember quite why, not nice weather outside I expect. Put a plastic tablecloth on first to protect the table of course and thankfully our laminate flooring is very forgiving.

That must have been quite frightening @Tui34, they are such large dogs aren't they. Hope Fitz is ok now.

I always overdo it @Busy-Lizzie then wonder why I'm aching the day after. Must remember to pace myself in future. I'm out every day in the garden just now, it's a full time job to keep this large garden tidy and well stocked. Despite the dry weather, the weeds are growing fast, including the dreaded bindweed.

It's kind of you to help out your daughter @Debs64, that's what most mums do I suppose. I'm sorry your daughter has got so much on her plate at the moment, that's not a good situation to be in. Best wishes to you both.

Enjoy your day with your Bestie @Ladybird4.

Right, more ratchet straps have been delivered so we're going to have another go at getting this blasted Shade Sail up today, well OH will be doing most of the work whilst I hang on to the ladder.

                        Morning all.

I’ve sowed my seeds. Now to look for somewhere to put them! They might have to go in the dining room as that’s a cat-free zone.

                        Have a smashing day everyone.

                          Hello all.

I think you were very brave to face that big dog @Tui34. I stopped riding my bike years ago because of dogs, especially Alsations. One bit me once and twice Alsations have attacked dogs that I've owned.

I've been doing the dreaded HW. It rained in the night and is now cloudy so I didn't feel like gardening, though I may do some this afternoon.

Before that I went out and bought a book token for DIL's birthday and posted it in her card, I gave back the old computer box as we now have fibre and I went to the small GC for some more runner bean poles.

Today's rain arrived overnight and was noisy. Disturbed night with visitor pussycat too now that it's sussed the catflap but my two find it a bit disturbing so last night I put a bowl of kibble outside but under shelter. Thank you very much but he still came in and polished off the wet food and more kibble too. My pair never lick their bowls so clean.

As OH is golfing today and tomorrow I have been and done the weekly shop alone. This included 6 lavender stoechia plants on offer in LIDL but no gardening for me today as it's still wet and tomorrow's not looking too clever either buy I can go and sow some sunflowers in the polytunnel.

@Tui34 that sounds like far too much excitement for you and Fizz. She'll be nervous for ages now so please giver an extra hug from me.

Sorry about your discomfort @Penny_Forthem and I hope you sleep better tonight. I alternated paracetamol and ibuprofen for my knees and that seemed to work well.

Great that you have all your wifi upgraded and working @Busy-Lizzie.

I don't mind housework but do tend to leave it till it really needs doing. I hope your day goes well @Debs64. Your daughter cretainly has a lot on her plate so best wishes to you all.

We have a very professional banister to make me independent on the stairs, a rather undignified loo seat and frame downstairs (but it's much comfier) and await a door rail and step. Gosh, they've done a lot for me.
I've also had a snooze and the OT who brought the loo seat, said, 'you look better today!'.
Had a hair wash, that's why!
