Yes, it certainly is a must, for a GSD puppy, Puppy training classes, then on to the next whatever you can, they simply enjoy it all. And out and about to any place you can. I figure what the dog does is "mentally" input "the normal" of a situation. How a human walks "normally", how a car drives "normally". How people (example) in a store roam about "normally".. all that is exposure, builds confidence and gets them to then be alert to the "abnormal". For example, we have front living room windows, there is a "normal" speed cars drive on the road passing our house. Should a car be extra slow, "abnormal" I would hear my boy give a little woof noise. And sure enough I could see some slow car, probably lost.

Soaking rain again last night. Onward to whatever. have a grand day all.

      Afternoon folks

      :hotsun:

It’s a beautiful day here. Doing more seed sowing under the parasol, although there was nearly an incident with lettuce seeds verses the breeze!

I hope everyone is doing ok and Friday is treating you well.

Hello all. It's been dull and grey here and started very cold and windy. Late getting up as I was wakened by caterwhauling. There are quiate a few feral cats here - unneutered dumpees and farm cats - so I don't know who the visitor is but will carry on putting out food as long as it's needed.

I did manage to get my sunflower seeds sown and some research on best places to plant my acidanthera, paraxis and tritelia bulbs and corms but have spent most of my day faffing with domestic stuff. That should leave me free to play tomorrow.

I hope everyone's had a good day, whatever you've been doing, and that we all get a good weekend.

I have agreed to a brace and pin op on my humerus, hopefully Monday, bed permitting. Will give me a better quality of fitness, than doing nothing, but I do dread it.
I love Wem @Debs64, enjoy it.

Evening folks, a much warmer, less windy day here, very enjoyable. Walked a mile to the hospital and up 2 flights of stairs (!) for a repair to my hearing aid. I wasn't convinced it needed one and so it turned out, complete waste of everybody's time. Still waiting after 10 months for my new aids. Good job I'm only partially deaf and can usually manage to hear most people.

Spent the rest of the morning cutting more steel mesh to cover my greenhouse shelving and got the last two wider shelves done. Very pleased with the result.

@Penny_Forthem , I'm sure your op will be fine, I always think, well, I'll have a little sleep and then it will all be over. How long will you be staying in hospital for, or is it a day job? Best wishes anyway, I'm out for the day on Monday so will catch up on your news later.

That's a nuisance to be woken up early by the stray cat @Obelix-Vendée, you'll have to teach it to wait for it's breakfast. Hope it doesn't pass the word around, you might be get inundated.
Shame you're not getting some of our good weather at the moment, must be so frustrating.
I haven't sown any seeds yet, our nights are still cold so I'm waiting for temps to be more stable. Now that I've got my greenhouse sorted, I could sow some in pots I suppose and keep them in the house temporarily.

Enjoy your weekend away @Debs64 and your forthcoming family visit @Liriodendron.

Right, time to think about dinner, just spag bol tonight.

The brace and pin will hold the bones in place while they knit and should really help you heal fully @Penny_Forthem and give you some movability in the process. You'll be asleep while it's done and on pain meds after so it should be fine. Fingers crossed it all goes well.

@lizzie27 I suspect it's a ginger cat who appeared as a kitten around the time we adopted our pair as kittens. He has resisted all attempts to be friendly, fed and safe but, if it is him, he's coming up to 9 yrs old which is old age for a feral tom and may be needing help. It may also be one of his offsrping who's cottoned on to the two well fed cats living here and followed them home to steal. Either way, happy to help.

It's murky here now but set to be brighter tomorrow. I have things to do in the morning but expect to sow more seeds in the pm. Sunday is a local plant fair with an heirloom tomato specialist so I'm not sowing toms now till I've seen what he has this year.

Do you remember me mentioning ordering a lawn aerator, which I couldn't assemble? The online supplier sent me a second one, and asked me to combine the parts that were usable (for one aerator), and return the rest (at their expense).
Unfortunately, there was an identical problem with the second, so I am sending both back, and wait to be reimbursed.
                What a disappointment!!
I've not been having much luck recently, what with the lawn aerators, non delivery of potting grit (although I had money returned, and have ordered replacement), and yesterday, part of my bowsaw sheared off whilst in use, so had to buy a replacement.

My wife had offered to drive to the local GC, to buy potting grit. I wasn't sure she could lift 60kg, so am having it delivered.

@AuntyRach it would be interesting if you had lettuces popping up randomly. @Obelix-Vendée I think your OH is the one to blame for your poor weather, after all he was going playing golf wasn't he? I get Cricket's friend popping in occasionally but he is not a stray and Cricket is too much of a greedy guts to leave any food at all.
@Penny_Forthem I am impressed at the way you are being looked after, provided with aids and fast tracked for the op that will get your fracture sorted. I can understand your apprehension as I was petrified before my op. Sis said it was because I wasn't in control. I have no idea what she meant by that!!
I am hoping to get more seeds sown tomorrow also. Today's meal out with the gang was lovely. I really enjoy our monthly catch ups.

Oh @Fourmerkland that is a huge disappointment for you. You have now had your three disasters - aerator, grit and bowsaw - so you should have a lucky spell now. (fingers crossed).

Good morning all from Wem, farmhouse we are staying in is lovely I have my own room up in the attic very sloped ceilings but peaceful. Except for the birds which have now been joined by geese. Lazy day planned today then a curry out tonight
We saw quite a lot of bats last night it seems very early in the year for them but I am no expert

Good morning @Debs64, @Ladybird4 and all to follow. It's finally weekend and I have whole two days of leisure time. I'm a bit frustrated because all works outside are delayed this year due to bad weather. In fact, next three days will be like early January, with high wind and very cold. Snow is even possible in the hills. But, first tea, than plans for cottage this afternoon. I have few plants to protect up there.
