I agree with @Busy-Lizzie @Butterfly6, I bet that you come up with some fantastic food for tomorrow and speaking of fantastic food @Tui34, I love monkfish, its such a 'meaty' feast. Fresh tuna and swordfish are two other favourites of mine. Oh my @Penny_Forthem what an absolutely wonderful surprise! Enjoy!
I am signing out for this evening folks so enjoy your evenings and I'll see you all tomorrow.

What a lovely surprise @Penny_Forthem, sounds absolutely delicious. Enjoy!

Not done much again today, think I spoke too soon yesterday when I said I felt better, not so today to my surprise. Usual walk this morning as OH not really fit enough then lounged around most of the day, ignoring the weeding that I had planned to get on with. I did shoot out to the shops after lunch to get more heavy duty ratchet straps/carabiners from our local DIY shop. It is such a pleasure to shop there as the staff are very helpful and their prices reasonable.

We enjoyed our S/M meal for two special offer of ranch steaks with garlic butter, mixed greens, mushrooms, toms and chips washed down with Malbec and followed by blueberry cheesecake.
Cheered us up no end! Easter Eggs tomorrow as well!

        Evening all.

Very wet here now and quite a wet afternoon tho I slept thru most of it. Damp on and off for the plant fair but still healthy sales at the gâteaux stand. I was up till midnight ircing cooled cakes and then up at 7:30 to get ready and pack them in th ecar so, given a broken sleep with teh sinusitis, I faded and calle dOH to take me home at 2pm. Slept 4 hours.

Pork and apple burgers for dinner - no buns cos I made garlic bread with wild garlic - mixed leaves and a bean salad. Leg of lamb tomorrow and, as OH was away yesterday an I was out today, home made hot cross buns for lunch. I don't do breakfast. The French don't do them and Possum doesn't do dried fruit so she gets a chocolate chip version.

I had a chat with a vet friend today about the visiting cat. She thinks its eating habits may be caused by problems with its teeth or mouth. If I can catch it I can take it to a vet to see if it's micro-chipped and then decide whether we, or an owner, get to sort out any problems. Too many owners abandon cats and dogs with health problems or pregnancies. We won't.

I've read all today's posts, and yesterdays but brain is still tired so, other than congratulating @Penny_Forthem on her surprise delivery, I'll just wish you all a good night and happy Easter.

Sounds like everyone is getting into the Easter spirit! What a lovely treat, and a kind thought from your friends, @Penny_Forthem. Sorry you’ve had a relapse, @lizzie27, hopefully much better tomorrow.
We had a quiet day at home. I didn’t get round to the laundry, but did some puzzles! I took the 15 year old granddog out for two sedate walks, but she then surprised me by deciding to run up and down the lawn at high speed! We have to keep her on a lead as our garden isn’t enclosed, and also populated by squirrels, rabbits and other wildlife. Her recall wasn’t good if faced with temptations like that anyway, and now she is completely deaf, we can’t even call her back. So I had to run up and down too! Half killed me, haven’t managed more than a brisk walk for years!
I have half a turkey crown from Christmas defrosting in the fridge, plus some sausages and bacon for pigs in blankets, so we will have a festive dinner tomorrow. I should have put a bottle of fizz in the fridge. If I can muster up the energy, I’ll get one from the utility room. Otherwise it’ll be some Italian red if I’m feeling lazy.

A very happy Easter to you Ante and all arriving later. I think it might be a nice day weatherwise as I can see patches of blue between the clouds.

Good morning all. Dry here and patches of blue sky. OH is off to work in a minute seems strange to me getting married on Easter Sunday but up to them I suppose. Walk with my sister is planned then round to oldest daughter. She is doing a Greeceter buffet apparently lots of feta and lamb and salads. I will see my grandchildren and give them their eggs. My ex husband will be there so I won’t stay long, we are perfectly amicable but to be honest I don’t like him and I am not comfortable around him although we put on a good act for the children.
Hope you all enjoy your Easter celebrations

Good morning and a very Happy Easter to you all!

Sunny!! Hooray - the weather was bad yesterday so it must have been 2 days' worth!!

Leg of lamb today @Ladybird with roasties and a lemon meringue tart for pud. I have made the filling and will bake it so that it will still be warm enough for the scoop of french vanilla ice-cream to start melting!!!!

                  Have a lovely day!

Good morning all and Happy Easter.

We will have a quiet day before the hectic time that will start on Wednesday when Daughter 1 and family arrive, followed by Daughter 2 and family on Saturday.

My back is a lot better, thank goodness. When it played up last year I went to a chiropractor who pummelled it so much it ached for 3 weeks afterwards. I have osteo arthritis in the lumbar spine.

Yesterday I prepared the guest bedroom. Today I will do the ironing. Tomorrow I'll make up the bunk beds in the children's bedroom.

Just after I posted yesterday the rain stopped so no Easter present for the water butts :dunno:
we had a lovely day and lunch out at MILs yesterday. Delicious linguine with crab, chilli and olive oil for me followed by a perfect tiramisu. They also do a rather wicked Virgin Margherita. We did a few jobs for MIL, garden swing seat out of storage and into her favourite spot, letterbox repairs, prices and spec compared for a new iPad, clematis tied in and health assessed.

Despite the newspaper and RAC hysterics the motorways were free flowing and far quieter than usual so we had a painless journey each way. MIL lives in Ruislip and it’s invariably a 2 hour trip these days, sometimes longer. Yesterday we did a breezy 1 hr 45.

Just about to venture into the kitchen to start lunch prep for today. I had a rummage through the veg yesterday so I could ruminate what to put in my mushroom-less mushroom parcels :loll:

My current thoughts, it may change, Camembert, lightly sautéed spring greens and onion with a wild garlic pesto. All wrapped in puff pastry. Other than that it’s a straight forward roast. Gammon for SIL and OH. All the roasties and gravy are veggie so no juggling multiple dishes and dessert is already done (rich chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream).

The sun is finally peeping through so I must get on

Wishing you all best wishes for Easter x

                          Happy Easter from me too.
We have family coming, Roast lamb, with all the extras. Same number as at Christmas. We haven't done Easter for a few years as SD and the GC'S usually go away. As the schools have been off for 2 weeks before this, they are all around this time. The only produce from the plots will be Asparagus, and Rhubarb for the pud.

A Happy Easter one and all.

It is a lovely day, glorious sunshine again but still windy. Just about recovered from my floor mopping session yesterday. The arthritis in my hips, shoulders and everywhere else is making my mobility really hard work. Finished altering my trousers, happy with them now.
Thank goodness we have had some decent rain, trouble is the weeds grow faster than garden plants. I spotted a great tit using the new nesting box on the end of the shed so one happy customer.
I was planning on going to club today but received an email yesterday proposing a double starting time for club sessions. 1.00 or 2.00pm. Really????? I have sent a letter of complaint to the chair who sent the original message. No reply yet. Now I am not sure what time to get there. I have the feeling there is a small, silent minority group trying to manipulate some of the club activities to suit themselves, although they would never admit it.
I am not sure how long I will be able to play as each game lasts approximately 45-60 mins with no sitting down. The lawns are beautifully level, mown, soft and springy, a credit to the ladies who have tended them throughout the winter and the lawns are a pleasure to play on. We even have to maintain one lawn at a much longer length to give our teams a chance to practice on a rougher surface for when they go away to play matches at clubs with poorer lawns. A few clubs have really challenging lawns, slopes, rough grass etc. Makes life interesting.

                              Good Morning this Easter Sunday.

Sounds like many of you have had or are having feasts this weekend.

It’s a dry day so I’ll be gardening at MIL’s later.

The alpaca relaxation was fantastic! We fed and petted the alpacas then retreated to a yurt for a sound bath and relaxation- it was lovely.

                                Good morning everyone.
A very happy Easter to you all :hapflowers2::sparrow:.

It’s trying to brighten up a bit here, but still rather cloudy.

I’m making lamb tagine for our dinner tonight. I’ll put it into the tagine when I get back from church and leave it to its own devices for several hours whilst I potter in the garden.

I hope you all have a lovely day and your plans go to plan.
