Remember when we all wanted rain?
Can I send it back now?
The site owners had one of their partays last night. Usually, the musac is low, but they must have opened the doors last night and it was loud. Luckily, it is always 'carriages at 12', so I did get some sleep.
Home later and, much as I'd wanted to stay here till tomorrow, I could really fancy a roast chicken (and all trimmings) dinner at home.

It's raining hard at the moment but still warm. Hope it clears up soon as we're off to a GC about 25 miles away - to buy a frock! Hopefully, I'll be able to find one that fits me, having terrible trouble with that and couldn't find anything in Bath that did. I saw some lovely summery ones up in the Moreton-in-the-Marsh GC branch a month or so ago but that's too far away today.

We heard on Saturday morning that our friend had sadly died in the hospice. Not unexpected but still a shock nonetheless. We're hoping that we will be able to arrange a procession of old cars in his honour at the funeral.

Hope everyone has a good day today and that @Busy-Lizzie has a good journey.

            Good afternoon,
We’ve got showers today, so not quite the steady rain of yesterday, at least not yet. It came in very misty late last night, too. The plants and grass are beginning to look happier. Still lots of brown patches on the grass, but not as bad as before, plus I suspect some are scorch marks from the visiting cats using it as a toilet, which is a nuisance, but difficult to control as I don’t want to harm the cats.
Be careful moving those sacks @Goldenlily26.
Sorry to hear about your friend, @lizzie27.
Whilst typing this, the rain has got decidedly heavier.

Greetings. We had some rain last night but not a lot. About 12mm so half of the amount forecast. More due tonight tho.

I'm having a lazy day reading and thinking about how to incorporate a water feature in the seating and herby area I'm trying to get OH to help me make beyond the terrace whilst cuddling Cosmos pussy who needs a lot of loving.

Sorry about your friend @lizzie27 but the tribute you're planning should be good.

Have a safe journey home @Busy-Lizzie. Be careful of all those sacks @Goldenlily26

Have an enjoyable afternoon and evening everyone.

It’s turned into a lovely evening now. I’ve done some gardening at MIL’s (Welsh cake reward as per) and now back home to do some here. I love a Sunday when no work on Monday.

That’s sad news @lizzie27 - expected or not.

Safe journey to @Busy-Lizzie - I hope the garden is full of delights since you’ve seen it last.

                I hope you’ve enjoyed your lazy day @Obelix-Vendée .

I agree the grass and plants are looking more revived @Blue arbour - still plenty of buds yet to come on roses, hibiscus and dahlias etc.

Can’t beat home comforts and the thought of a chicken dinner @Penny_Forthem - making me hungry now!

A tipped tray of plants or a plant pot makes a right mess doesn’t it @Goldenlily26 - I hope all sorted now.

I hope it stayed dry for you @Ladybird4 and purchases were made.

Have a lovely rest of the day everyone who is looking in.

Good evening all. Well you'll never believe it - don't even believe it myself - but we had such a happy chatty time at the GC that I didn't even have chance to look at the plants. Good excuse for going back! The rain did arrive and it was teeming down but so warm that it was actually quite pleasant.
I was so sorry to read about your friend @lizzie27. He hadn't been in the hospice very long had he? I love the idea of a parade of old cars in his honour. A fitting homage.
I hope that by now @Busy-Lizzie and her OH are now safely ensconced at her sister's with lots of lovely catching up done.
Signing out now. See you all around tomorrow. Where has that weekend gone?

Very mixed weather here, hot sunny spells interspersed with heavy downpours. I got out while it was dry and cut down an ugly pine type bush, and made a start on loosening its roots to come out. I’ve never liked it, and it needed to go so that we can repair a patio behind it.
Lots going on with you all. I hope you found a dress, @lizzie27, bet you got tempted by some plants too? Our local garden centre has a big clothing department, I’ve bought several items there over the years. Much nicer than trekking into town.

Well, I got tempted by three dresses in the end! OH very kindly said I could have all three for a birthday present which was extremely good of him. Two, a fuchsia pink sleeveless linen shift and a long bluey/green one with a tassel belt were half price in the sale and a lovely light navy one, also long (too long!) with palm trees outlined in gold printed on the front. I'll have to take the last two up which is a pain as there are yards of material in the skirts but oh so worth it. The final icing on the cake was that all the dresses were in the small size - result!! I could have bought an awful lot more but managed to drag myself away for a very nice light lunch there sitting outside in the courtyard by the old mill leat. I didn't buy any plants though.

Thanks for all the condolences, much appreciated. You were right @Ladybird4, our friend had only been in the hospice about a week so we guessed the end was near. OH and another mutual friend are hoping to get his old car going again next week ready for the funeral, whenever that is scheduled for.

We have applied for a couple of adoption dogs. On paper, we're ideal.
But despite being desperate for adopters, we are not guaranteed.

Hello everyone. I woke up this morning to a thick mist outside and I almost thought I had overslept until Autumn. After I leapt (Pinocchio nose!) out of bed, I realised that I was about 30 minutes earlier than usual but decided it wasn't worth going back to bed and Cricket was getting quite excited at the thoughts of an early breakfast. He's now fed and I'm on my first cuppa. The mist is slowly clearing. Looking down the back garden my poor Katsura tree which is sensitive to drought conditions is already dropping its leaves. This seems to be the pattern now for several years.
@Penny_Forthem I am sure the right dogs are just waiting for you and in the end you will have your wishes granted. Exciting times!

I thought I had overslept today too, but because it was sunny! I’m not in work but needed to be awake to message my colleague about something. I was woken twice in the night by George the cat insisting he was hungry. I can’t really leave a bowl of food out overnight because he would nom it all before bedtime (and not share). Maybe I’ll try and see what happens but I think he would still wake me up anyway as they love routine don’t they?

                              Have a smashing day all.

Good morning @AuntyRach. Yep, cats are almost like little alarm clocks on their own. Cricket soon learned when breakfasts and teas were delivered and he is always there, in my face, as these times approach.
