    Good morning all.

I echo what @Ladybird4 said last night and what @Tui34 said this morning.

Cloudy outside. The red squirrels are still looking for nuts on the hazelnut tree.

Nothing planned for today. I may do some weeding. I spent some time wrestling with the grape vine on the house wall yesterday. Last year I thought it was dying but this year, while we were in Norfolk, it has taken on a new lease of life and grown over the oleander, smothered the flower bed and was starting to journey across the drive. It has only produced 2 bunches of grapes.

Good morning everyone, we had a little rain to wake up to yesterday, and another shower around 6pm. No sign of thunder, lightening, or heavy rain as forecast around lunchtime. We are going digital in a couple of weeks time, hopefully ours will be trouble free too.
We had our second shingles jab yesterday, very overdue. I barely noticed her putting it in. Unfortunately tho I had a terrible night , lots of aching joints felt very hot.
Happy travels, hope all the animals are OK.

Good luck to Visitor, I hope it goes well for him/her? It is so stressful when our animals are ill.

Had an iffy day. I did a waddle down the lane, daughter looked in with my final packet of meds. She brought me up to date with news about her father. They have to wait for all of the official paperwork and checks to be made. The nursing home where he is being moved to is only a 25 mins. drive for my daughter, thank goodness.
She is having to get someone to spray a bamboo in my ex's garden. I planted it apparently, about 30 years ago, it has never been touched so has charged all over the garden. They have been told some Mortgage Companies will not give mortgages, when they put their father's house up for sale, class it the same as Japanese Knotweed. You have to have a certificate to prove it has been treated. Little did I know when I planted it.

I could not believe my eyes when sitting at my PC to see the cat from No 1 saunter past, as bold as brass, on its way to the kitchen to eat Poppy's tea. I shouted and shushed at it so it skedaddled through the cat flap which I wish I had locked. It would have given itself a headache. It really is a nuisance.

Morning. A quiet day is planned. We have a mountain of cardboard - too much for the recycling bag (why do companies put things in such huge packaging?) so we'll go to the shops, via the tip.
I must pick up a passport form too - the local postie doesn't carry them.
I also have weeding to do. Sigh...

Hello everyone, I'd forgotten @Liriodendron was going to her Scottish cottage so hope she has a good journey.

No news from Obelix yet? That's a bit ominous.

The builder arrived before we woke up this morning! By lunchtime he had erected/laid the new inside breeze block wall up to parapet level, we were most impressed and he'd also demolished the stone steps down to the garden. He cleaned the cement mixer, tidied up, swept some of the paving cleaned and knocked off early for the weekend.

I decided after lunch that I ought to prune the wisteria down by a third before he begins work on the next section of the terrace. More might have to come off but I'll see what he says.

Hope your ex's move goes according to plan @Goldenlily26. These things are never quite so fast as one would like due to all the required paperwork.

It can wait a few days, but doh

Good evening all. A very interesting lunchtime today. One of our party had ordered a hot roast beef bun and after one bite she discovered that the edge of the bun was mouldy. The staff were extremely apologetic but friend decided she didn't want another attempt. Despite this rather disappointing occurrence the rest of us had excellent meals and the chatter was - as ever - pleasant. After I dropped my friends off and headed for home I felt really tired. Those restless nights are taking their toll. I'm watching the cricket highlights and its a bit nerve wracking.
I think I'll go and make a brew now and get ready for GW. A new series of Mrs Brown's Boys starts tonight too - love that programme! I will bid you all good night now and see you in the morning.

Well it looks as if it is going to be nice today - at least it is at the moment. Hoping to get out into the garden but will have to go easy as my hip is still uncomfortable. It is Cricket's birthday today - he is 3, so will get special treats. Hoping to hear some positive news from @Obelix-Vendée. I'm not sure how long it takes for the results to come through.

Morning all. I have a long weekend off which is a nice breather.

Happy Birthday Cricket! Enjoy your treats! My feline boys are hilarious as they know where the food is kept (utility room) so when I go into there they often spring up and follow me in, indicating that they are starving. Nice try boys.

Have a lovely weekend folks. Take it easy all those with achy, broken or misbehaving body parts.

                        Oh my what a day!
My daughter came and picked me up and we went for a coffee at a local Water Garden which was very pleasant. We shared some quiet time thinking of her brother visiting their father for what is almost certainly the last time.
My ex. has now been moved down here so life will be easier for my daughter to visit him.

I fell into my recliner when I came home and was watching The Bidding Room when I thought I heard running water. I turned down the volume on the TV thinking it was a deluge of rain but no, it was coming from inside the room.
My 90 litre aquarium had sprung a large leak. There was water all over the floor and it was pouring down the front of the cabinet the tank was standing on. I threw towels down, put a bowl under where most of the water was running, phoned my daughter to come and give me a hand and then started to try and catch the fish. The rescue brigade arrived and took over. Thank goodness I have stone floors. My SIL caught the last of the fish and eventually managed to carry the tank outside, (big strong firefighter), my daughter mopped and wrung out towels until order was restored. The electrics were checked, a cup of tea and calm was restored. Now I have to rehome the fish who are crowded together in a bucket. My daughter put up a message to her friends on Facbook but no takers so far. I am going to call the local aquarium shop to see if they will take them, I believe there are strict rules about fish trading/care etc. but not sure what.
I have just pegged out a full rotary dryer of towels which I put through the washing machine last night.
I think a quiet day is the order of the day!

Goodness me @Goldenlily26, what a disaster! Hope all the fish get rehomed.
As you say it will make life so much easier for your daughter now your ex has been moved nearer to her.

I had a calamity myself while eating dinner last night - and I was only eating a curry! One of my molars crumbled leaving the old mercury filling holding the rest of the tooth together. Thankfully it's not painful although the resulting dentists bill will be! I have an appointment for Monday. No apples or Ryvitas for the next few days then.

That looks a lovely place @Liriodendron, enjoy the ferry ride and your cottage stay.

I'd better get on and get out in the garden before the day goes. Enjoy your weekend folks.

Good afternoon, still no news from @Obelix-Vendée ??
I seem to be getting quite a reaction to this Shingles second jab. I now have an 11×5 cm red patch on my upper deltoid which is very tender. Seems to be in line with the "possible side effects listed" but my wife isn't so sure. Trouble is being the weekend, no chance of talking to GP and I don't think it's serious enough for anything else.

                                Hello all.

Oh dear, that must have been traumatic @Goldenlily26, I hope the goldfish survive.

I have lovely memories of Oban @Liriodendron. We went on a family holiday when I was in my late teens. The weather was glorious, like the sky in your photo. We watched the Highland Games and I had a short but sweet holiday romance.

I hope your dentist trip won't be too painful in either way, @lizzie27.

Washing is on the line and the orchard fence bed and the amelanchier bed are weeded. Come in for lunch. It's getting too warm to garden now but it was lovely earlier, cool breeze and blue sky.

The grass is too dry to mow, going beige.
