    Good morning all.

Still wet here - hope the weather is OK for your Christmas market, @Ladybird4 .

I'm with you on the annoyance of having to download instruction manuals. Our car is old enough to have a paper version, kept in the glove box so that if you need to know something in a hurry you can look it up.

Hope you're feeling OK this morning, @AuntyRach !

I have to thank you @Liriodendron by pointing out it was @AuntyRach who went through all the tests yesterday and I had written @Ergates (sorry! I do hope that you are OK too!) so I have been able to amend my post!

Morning all. I’m ok this morning thank you for checking in on me. I have more tests next week.

My parcel of books for presents has just arrived! Unfortunately no Traitors board game yet but I have the book and could provide an ‘IOU’, along with the book, for my niece if the game doesn’t arrive in time as Plan B. The book looks great - it’s one of those where you choose the outcome of a question or challenge and ‘turn to page…’ for the next bit. I also ordered a new Murdle logic puzzle book for myself.

          Keep dry and warm everyone!

Morning from a somewhat dreary Wales.
Wet weather gear is needed for the dog walk.
Sorry to hear you've been undergoing tests, @AuntyRach. I hope there's a positive outcome for you.
I always feel 'flat' at this time of year, as if there's something 'big' around the corner that I'm really not quite prepared for. Procrastinating does me no good at all, but I'm very good at it!

Good morning. Glad you're feeling better @AuntyRach and hope all further tests go well.

It is set to be dry today but it is so soggy out there and I have a post jab "arm" today so limited movement at the mo. Hope that wears off quickly as we're booked to do a line dance class this pm. Tomorrow is set to be even soggier and it's OH's birthday so I shall probably end up planting the rest of my bulbs in pots to set out in spring.

@Liriodendron and @Ladybird4 it's not just cars. I had to download the manual for my wee Brother sewing machine which is not very practical as it's the one I use when I need one at patch club and I don't take my PC.

Don't have time to feel flat @Penny_Forthem. That comes in February - January is for relaxing a,d hibernating after the festivities then February feels so long and dark and cold waiting for all the spring cheer to start. Not as bad here as in Belgium tho when we'd regularly have a couple of weeks of -15C by day.

Hello and good morning ladies and gentlemen.

It has been quite a while since I've been on the forum. My apologies for my absence. To cut a long story short things have been mixed bereavement-wise and health-wise and I just wasn't in a place where I felt much like posting I'm afraid. However I'm hoping that the worst is behind me now.

Gardening-wise, I ended my ill-starred dalliance with patio roses last October by replacing them with rugosa roses. I ordered a white one and a pink-purple one, but it transpires that I received two whites. Spring and Summer were unusually dry and Autumn has been unusually wet. As usual delphiniums, zinnias and snapdragons refused to grow for me (third year of trying!). Also typically, corn marigolds and Shirley poppies self-seeded rampantly, which I did nothing to prevent.

Here is a photo from high Summer, depicting the results of my usual method of gross incompetence tempered by disgraceful neglect:

                  Hello to @Ergates @Ladybird4 @Bluejayway @lizzie27 @Busy-Lizzie @Obelix-Vendée @Penny_Forthem @Coccinella and best wishes to @AuntyRach . Hello also to those I have - inevitably - forget to mention.

I'd like to finish this rambling post on a lighter note if I may, by initiating my first annual "Mildly Amusing Video Clip Awards".

Runner-up slot goes to this clip of a man with an interestingly-trained cat (original source of the clip unknown):

However the winner is this clip caught on CCTV in Southend, Essex. I especially like the bit at the end:
Giant purple dinosaur caught fly-tipping on CCTV in Southend

Best wishes to all - as always!

Happy birthday to OH for tomorrow, @Obelix-Vendée. My son in law is on his way back from Leuven, where he was giving a talk yesterday. I wonder if he got to see the Christmas Fair?
Dull and grey here in Oxford, but have been having a lovely catch up with daughter on our own.
Time to head off to the Botanical Gardens for the Christmas Market!

                              Good morning all.

We've had breakfast and lunch in one meal at the church coffee morning. This afternoon we are going to a Christmas Fair in a village hall.

It was very wet and windy last night. The Christmas tree is sitting in a bucket of water outside. It will have to dry out a bit before we bring it in.
