It is just getting light here now and I see that the skies are covered in grey clouds. Guess I shall find things to do inside today.

I think I shall play with some more jelly recipes.

Clouds seem to be the order of the day. We went down to freezing last night and I am happy that having the heater one smidge above "pilot" has kept the greenhouse in the low 50f's.

I aggravated my sore back yesterday by moving 3 trugs into one of the small greenhouses. These were from Lee Valley and are dandy for growing lettuces and things like that. Each one holds 45 liters of soil and of course since there were romaine seedlings in them, the water needed added a fair bit. Wouldn't have been so bad if I didn't have to lift them over the threshold and twist myself to get them in place. But the heavy lifting is done and I'm on the mend. I don't give in to a back ache, I keep moving. Stubborn me

Begin work at my new place on Monday and, as it is different (plus more) hours than before, I'm busy organising things around it (I'm getting reacquainted with my slow cooker ). Today I'm going to make a couple of loaves for the freezer and some pizza dough. If the mood takes me, I may even treat the family to a Lemon Drizzle cake ... but I won't promise.

Tomorrow is Ozzy's 6th birthday (49 in dog years) plus the first Sunday in a long while when the family will all be round the table for a traditional Sunday roast I've defrosted a joint of beef, which prompted the question (from youngest son):
"Will you give Ozzy a slice?"
"A slice of beef?"
"Yes, for his birthday!"
"Silly billy, this *is* for Ozzy's birthday; we're having a tin of corned beef "
