Well I hope you polish up Mrs Shiney's wings once in a while to show you appreciate her. She sounds an Angel. Hopefully the biting bug season will soon be over. They wont appreciate the snow when it comes, not sure that I will either!

    Good morning Louise and everyone,:)

Shiney,we got over to the allotment yesterday afternoon as Mr K had another days holiday before going back to work and we have cut and brought home 31 squashes that looked like they were ready but now has to find somewhere to store them once they have dried off and ripened:D22 of them were from one of the plants we had to buy,9 were off of the second plant we bought and the rest were off our home grown plants so we are glad now that we spent out a bit of cash and bought those two plants:)I shall have to look back on my June posting to see hwo m uch we paid for them but Mr K reckons we have saved quiet a bit of money by him not having to buy them this winter:DWe aslo picked another bowl of raspberries and a carrier bag full of beans although they are slowing down now.Oh and he also picked loads of tomatoes as well.Good job we invested in a spare fridge as we would be struggling to find room for all this stuff:DI do hope you are not in too much discomfort with those bites.I only get bitten by those big flies on the odd occassion and mine always comes up in a big lump and they itch like mad:mad:

Moyra I hate dentists with a passion and always shiver and shake and if i have work done practise deep breathing to calm me down.I was shocked when the dentist mentioned the word biopsy but he assured me he doesn't think it is anything nasty and could be a small denture i have rubbing on the gum but usually if I have a problem like that it would be sore but it is not.I go next week so will see what the Consultant says although not looking forward to injections in the gum if they have to freeze it before taking the sample :mad:Hope little Amber is ok and that she isn't getting too hot with this heatave we are having/going to have this week:DWe didn't get onto Woolacombe beach but did Baggy Point and then another day walked around Morte Point. My feet are a bit sore at the moment as i have a couple of corns that won't go away despite treatment on them but we still managed to do a fair bit of walking:)

Sorry for the rambling but hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,

    Sprinkler day again today :rolleyespink:.

moyra, I never cease to tell Mrs shiney, and the world, how wonderful she is :wub2: :love30: :yay:. Oscar agrees with me :kittykiss:

Kandy, that's an excellent crop :dbgrtmb:.

I had an extendable hedge trimmer delivered yesterday so hope I can now cut the more inaccesible parts of the hedges and conifers. In the past I have always had to get someone in to do those areas but it is getting too expensive (a full day's work). My friend Roy (a professional gardener) usually does it in May (before Open Day) free of charge as his donation to our charity :dbgrtmb: and last year he let me have his hedge cutting equipment later in the year so I could do it myself. It got much too heavy for me with its powerful petrol motor and extremely long arm (nearly 3 metres) :rolleyespink:.

So now I've bought an electric powered one and hope it is good enough to do the job. Actually, I hope I'm good enough to do the job :heehee:. Buying this one is less than half the price of having the job professionally done just once.

    Have a great day :D

    Good morning Everyone,

Kandy I do hope that biopsy goes well and that it transpires to be nothing significant. It so long since I have been down the west country. I really ought to get in my little car and just drive but I get myself into a panic if I go too far.

Shiney, so glad Mrs S is well appreciated jointly by you and Oscar, as you both know where your next meal is coming from no doubt.:love30::loll:

Oh Kandy I meant to say Amber at nearly 5 months is behaving like a typical 2 year old toddler hanging onto the hem of mothers dress and wanting 100% attention. Bless her. She is beautiful.:heehee: but hard work.

      Good morning everyone,

Yesterday stayed misty and dull until lunchtime and then the sun shone all day. Today, the sun is already shining brightly and they forecast the start of our mini-heatwave. :sunny:

The areas of the garden that I have already used the sprinkler on have perked up quite well (I thought we were going to lose some of the plants) and it will get moved around to some other areas today. It's fun to watch the birds playing under spray :dbgrtmb:

Last year we bought a new hardwood garden table as the last one had fallen apart after 20 years. It was really nice, and well made, and I teak oiled it as soon as I put it together. I oiled it again just before the winter as I wanted to make sure that it lasted as long as the previous one and, last week, I started to do it again. It was then that I noticed that it was already starting to warp.

So I contacted the supplier (Greenfingers) and after some negotiations they agreed to refund all my money and I received a cheque this week. Although I would have preferred a replacement table I thought this was an excellent service. Well done Greenfingers :yay:. Now I have to start looking for a new one and they have gone up a lot in price.

I've lots of paperwork to do today

      Have a great day :D

      Morning Everyone,

Yes Kandy, we do take a few photo's of Amber every few weeks as she is growing so fast. She too likes to lick. I think it is a salt thing.

Shiney, I use Greenfingers and have been very pleased with all the supplies I have bought from them.

      Have a great day everyone.
