    Good morning everyone,

Moyra,I said to my sister that I thought it was a salt thing but it tickled quiet a lot when she kept doing it especially as i was in the middle of a conversation and it made me laugh:)

Looks like it is going to be another hot day again today so already have the washing on and will soon get it out:D

I might see if i can get the lawns mowed and edged so they look nice and neat and thankfully it shouldn't be a long job:heehee:

Have a good day everyone and enjoy the sun while it is here:)

    Good morning everyone,

Kandy, I'm not allowed to say that :loll:

It was a pretty mild night last night after a day where the temperature reached 77F :rolleyespink:. It's very misty at the moment but the sun is starting to break through and make the thousands of spider webs glisten.

I decided to assemble the hedge trimmer yesterday and the instructions omitted to mention that two parts that were on the trimmer had to be removed and discarded . Oscar and I spent about 30 minutes trying to work it out but I had to phone the manufacturer's helpline. After the phonecall it only took three minutes to assemble. I'll test it today.

Oscar won't like the sound that the hedgetrimmer will make as he doesn't like any sound he hasn't heard before - but he'll soon get used to ignoring it. You should see the look he always gives the mower when I go near him! He definitely wasn't happy yesterday with the noise of the sun awning as it wound out but after a while he was happy to make use of the shade :D

moyra, Oscar says hello to Amber and says she seems to be a nice girl but she can't come into his garden as dogs aren't allowed.

    have a great day :D

    Morning All,

Kandy, I have my washing machine on too. But now you have made me feel guilty that I had better get out there and cut the lawn. Its grown so fast this week. Amber always thinks she is kissing me when she licks me, might have something to do with the fact that I tell her I do not want her kisses thank you very much!

Shiney, Amber says hi Oscar thanks for the nice remarks but if she cannot play in your garden then you wont get to play with her ball then.

Amber says: Besides Mummy is trying to keep the cats out of our garden because I clear up after them and it makes me very ill. Yesterday I came out in red blotches because of it. Mummy has emptied my soil tray that I was learning to find a jar of truffles in and instead she is going to buy me some silver sand so that she can tell if a naughty cat has misused it. So I cannot dig until she buys the sand. She is sending Daddy Steve to get me some round the builders yard.

Steve reckons he is going to teach Amber to dig for truffles so he has bought some truffles so she knows what they smell like and he makes sure the pot they are in has the scent all round it then he buries it in her tray. Well up until her getting ill yesterday and him catching one of the neighbours cats sitting in her tray we had soil in it. Now we will replace it with silver sand so any cat waste shows up immediately. We shall just have to watch it and check it every morning before Amber gets out there to play. At least the silver sand will be almost the same colour as Amber!

Have a great day the grass is calling to be cut!

    Good morning everyone:)

Shiney you do make me smile when you talk about struggling with your new toy but glad you got there in the end:thumbsup:

Moyra,if you don't want cats in your garden you might want to get some of those sonic cat thingies. Our new neighbours have just had their back garden landscaped and had some of those installed which run off of the mains {not battery}and since then have had no cats enter their garden {well none that they know of}Not sure if they are 100% effective though:D

Well hasn't it been a lovely glorious sunny week this week?I have got all my holiday washing washed dried and aired, and the same with the sleeping bags which need hot sun to get all the moisture out of them and this morning I have had all the bedding stuff in the washine machine then will get the all the towels done. This morning I am going to clean out the caravan ready for storage and all that will need to be done is Mr K to wash the awning and groundsheets and then that is another job out of the way:D

I went and had my yearly Flu Jab done and my arm was quiet tender all night so didn't sleep too well but at least I shall hopefully miss the flu bugs when they come round this winter :hapfeet:

Hope you all have a good day:)

    Good morning everyone,

Yesterday certainly got hot and it was too hot to do anything in the sun :sunny:. The sun is already pretty warm today.

I didn't get around to trying out the hedge trimmer as I got a phonecall at 9 a.m. from the drain man saying he was on his way with the sludge lorry. He was coming to empty our cess pit :rolleyespink:. By the time he had emptied the pit, sucked out the three inspection chambers and all the drains and I had hosed down everything (I don't think there is a smiley holding his nose :heehee:) I decided that it was too hot for me to do any heavy work in the sun. The joys of living in the country :D.

Mrs shiney, Oscar and myself sat in the shade of the awning and had lunch. Actually, Mrs shiney and I had lunch (Oscar wasn't interested in it) and Oscar sat with his head on Mrs shiney's lap and his back leaning against me. After lunch Mrs shiney gave him reflexology - which he loves :kittykiss:

I may have a go at the hedge trimmer today but I have a number of things that need doing first. I'm working at arranging some bridge events and a charity event as well as all my usual things and really need to get organising. I have to sort out my shopping for the weekend as we have friends coming.

Tomorrow night we're off to a variety show at the village hall in the next village and on Sunday 'we are going to London to see the Queen'. I asked Oscar whether he wanted to come as it is traditional for pussies to go but he said he would be too busy sleeping and he doesn't really believe that there will be a mouse to frighten under a chair.

    Have a great day :D

    Morning Everyone,

It really is a lovely morning out there and quite hot already. Amber is on top form this morning. I stretched her walk out across a field as I felt I ought to push myself a bit further too. So I guess she will be expecting me to cross the road and go into the park again each time I walk her round that way. It's quite a step further and I was tired before I started so I think an easy day is called for.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Good morning everyone,

It's a lovely sunny October day and wouldn't surprise me if it becomes the hottest October day on record. :sunny:

I finally tried out the hedge trimmer and shaped one of the conifers. It turned out very good but it's difficult to use once your arms are reaching up high. They say not to use it at arm's length and not to use it whilst on a ladder, which makes it difficult to reach the top of the tree. So I picked the least bad option of holding it at arm's length - and stood on a bench :heehee:. The result looked excellent  but it's difficult to move my arms this morning  :heehee:

moyra, take it easy but it seems good to be able to extend the walk a bit and Amber must love it. :)

A wren has just landed on the wall outside my office. He's clinging to the edge of the brickwork around the window and is looking in :). I think he's picking insects off the bricks.

    Have a great day :D
