      Good morning everyone,

Moyra, hope everything goes ok with the Ultrasound scan and that the results are good.:thumbsup:The hospital might have had a cancellation so are able to slot you in.Good Luck with it though and hope it doesn't take too long:)

We have problems with people in our village letting their dogs foul everywhere and not picking it up and villagers are going mad about it which is understandable. The only problem now is a lot of them are walking round the woodland part of the village where we walk every night and we now have to be careful where we walk so that we don't tread in the stuff. It does make us both

Shiney,as our cats were of a part feral mum when we found them eight years ago we don't like leaving them on their own when we go away as knowing those two they would try to follow us so we would rather pay for them to go into a cattery, then we don't have the worry of them either getting lost or getting run over as there are a lot of speeding cars in the village and several have already lost their lives:cry3:It is good that Oscar doesn't like going far but mind you if we had a garden as big as yours ours would be safer as well:D

Woo,have you seen any of the Orinids at all yet?:)

Anyway,i got my winter broad beans sown yesterday plus my garlic so i just hope they all grow ok in the snow we are going to get.Mr Kandyd did say he wouldn't be growing any more garlic but has relented so we shall have rust everywhere next year:mad:

We had some rain in the night but it is dry now so will have to see what today brings weatherwise.

      Have a good one everyone:)

      Good morning, again, everyone,

We had a very small amount of rain in the night but the garden is still desperate for water. I'm still having to use the sprinkler every so often and the grass where it is under the trees is brown. The rest of the grass is OK because the morning dew seems to keep it going. I think this season I have done the least amount of mowing I have ever done.

Kandy, yes, we are very lucky that the gardens here are so large. Oscar does roam but only through the neighbours' back gardens. Monty's garden is the end one and that is six gardens away. Past there is just field. It's the same the other way with six gardens before the field but I don't think Oscar bothers going that way much. As he is slowing down quite a bit now he tends to sleep about 28 hours a day :heehee: so does very little roaming.

      Have a great day :D

      Morning Everyone,

Thank you all for your good wishes. Ultrasound scan all done and dusted and now I shall have to wait until the end of November before seeing the Renal Care Clinic Consultant to find out the results.

WOO, lovely to see you flying in, hope you are keeping much better this days.

Shiney, Oscar doesn't need to go on a holiday, life is just one big one for him. It's a shame about irresponsible dog owners. I trod in some this morning whilst walking Amber and I was not amused. It is difficult to see it when the leaves fall and half cover it. I'd like to rub the responsible dog owners noses in it if I was younger and stronger. No wonder all dog owners get a bad name.

Kandy, and Penny hope all is well with you two.

Well have a good day all.

        Good morning Woo and everyone,

Lovely Iris photo Woo and hope you have a good day as well:thumbsup:

Shiney we have fields near us to just by the duck pond and our Poppy and Willow will often go over there to catch mice after harvesting but I am always worried when they cross the roads as the cars in our village use the road like a race track and wouldn't worry about killing off a few cats:mad:

Moyra, glad that the scan went off ok and lets hope the results are good when you go back later on for them:thumbsup:

Well I had a wasted afternoon yesterday as i had to wait in for someone to come from our local water board to unblock a smelly sewage pipe in our front garden which has been smelling for two weeks. When Mr Kandy phoned up he was told we would be put on a priority list and the job would be sorted within twelve hours.Anyway no one showed up so at six he rang again and was passed onto someone else and was told they would be with us in an our.We rushed off to feed the cats, have a quick walk and got back home readyto wait for them.He finally turned up at 8.45 and left at 9.55 and I don't think the neighbours were very pleased with the orange flashing lights, the smell and the noise of the pressure thing he used but at least now we don't have the bad smell any more although i need to go out at first light to see what damage he has done to my plants:mad:

We have rain forecast for today so have to get to the lottie to pick the last of the toms, the first of the peppers and to fleece my runner beans I am saving for seed before we get the hard frost tonight.:what:

Hope you all have a great day:)

        Good morning everyone,

Although a bit chilly the sun is already shining. :sunny:

I may have to put the sprinkler on again today. The ground is cracking up and the 10 day forecast shows sunny all the time - but frost some nights.

All the runner beans have been put on the bonfire heap and the canes cleaned and stacked. I've put cloches over the Pongo beans to keep them happy . Our hanging baskets have been emptied and Mrs shiney has planted them with winter pansies and we'll keep them in the greenhouse for a while to get them settled.

The mower comes back today from its brief holiday so I can try and catch up on the mowing. The open areas of lawn are still growing well and the dry areas under the trees are covered in leaves.

Keep well and have a great day :D

Hello Everybody, you all seem to be very busy making me feel quite guilty. Just been outside filling in holes that lovely Amber has dug up for me. I have opened up her sand pit so hopefully if she wants to dig she can dig in that.

Woo you sure live up to your name doing all your flying late at night. It is good to see you though and thank you for the lovely photo makes our day.

Have a good day everyone and take care. Shiney no overdoing now you have your mower back.

          Good morning everyone,

Woo, thanks for the cheery flowers :dbgrtmb:

There is a glow in the sky from below the horizon and it appears to be the start of another sunny day. :sunny:

Moyra, you can send Amber over here as there is plenty of digging to be done. Is she any good at spreading compost as well? :D

Kandy, I hope you had sufficient rain. Tracey was in yesterday and wanted to start digging over the veggie garden but it was too hard to get a fork into :(. So she has started giving all the plants their winter haircut. It's making the garden looking quite neat and tidy.

Yesterday I got a man in to clean the meat oven - we use one for meat and the other for veggie meals. I've got a large cooking range and it gets used a lot and I find that roasting chicken (which I do a lot of) seems to spit more than other meats. Although it's supposed to be a self-cleaning oven it doesn't do much of a job of it. I clean it fairly regularly but over the years it has got gunged up.

The man quoted £45 for the oven and said it would take 2-3 hours. When I booked him I asked if he would look at the rest of the cooker and tell me if it needed professional cleaning. He had a look and said everything looked very good and didn't need him - apart from the oven.

He unscrewed the 'sef-cleaning' sides and the back plates, guards, fan and light cover and took them out to his vehicle to be dipped in chemicals. The inside of the door, the bottom and the top of the oven and the sides behind where the 'self-cleaning' sides were, all needed scraping. It was hard physical work and had to be done on hands and knees. He took a very long time scraping, then using cleaning materials, then scraping again and just over six hours later :rolleyespink: the oven was spotless.

He was a brilliant, hard worker and didn't complain about the extra time or tried to rush it. Although I kept giving him cups of tea he turned down the offer of a sandwich and just kept working right through. Mrs Shiney and I had a little discussion and when he had finished and cleared up we paid him £60 although he only gave us a bill for £45.

He'd worked fantastically hard, done a great job and remained cheerful all the time. It was well worth the money and we shall be recommending him to all our friends :dbgrtmb:

I'm going to be roasting a chicken today and think I'll try one of those roasting bags - anyone used one?

Mower is back and I got some mowing done and shall carry on today. got some busy days coming up - for a change :heehee:.

I'm still having a bit of trouble with my chest but it's gradually improving

          Sun's up! :happydance:

Keep well and have a great day :D
