Hi Folks, no sun here but it must be somewhere because it is a brighter sky out there. Still very cold though. I suppose I had better take the fleece off my plants but quite frankly if it were me I'd say leave the covers on mum. It's Ambers birthday today. She gots some lovely chews for her birthday. Safer than her eating another rag doll which then gives her problems later!!

Oh the foxes ate the sweetcorn last night but then I did put Amber's tin food over the top of it as well as soom of her meat balls.

    Have a good day all.:)

      Good morning everyone,

Its sunny here today, still a little cool but it'll warm up as the day goes on.

Brad and i are heading out shopping in a bit, have a few things i forgot to get....he's been keeping me busy this week (lol)!!

Kait got into her University, and she's so happy.....now we need to look for a house for her, I've been emailing back and forth about one already, plan on going down to see it in a few weeks.

Helping the bridal party plan a shower for Natalie in early June, and my sister in law is having ne in August for her, plans are coming along great.

Offf to breakfast.....so have a great day everyone.

        Hi Everyone,

Well I hope the Kandy's moving west are moving away from all this rain, it's got beyond a joke now, it really has. Still at least the little plants are surviving and in fact doing well. I do hope my pots turn up tomorrow so I can start potting stuff on.

If we don't get some good weather soon I shall be picking and eating peas grown entirely under cloches. They are getting quite big and I think are coming on to bloom.

        Have a lovely day everyone.:)

        Hi Moyra and everyone,

Just rushing as we have friends here for dinner (roast chicken done with herbs and garlic. Have just put spuds in and will check them in a few minutes) and they have just finished a guided tour of the garden.

Moyra, there's no real problem growing the peas under the cloches :dbgrtmb:. It'll help them grow quicker so your peas will be earlier.

We had a really good time yesterday. The church service was very good - everything was picked by our friends including the prayers and order of service. They also printed the whole lot in a lovely booklet with a photo of them on the front. There were 22 pages so the service took a long time. Having said all that, I can't really understand why they have a renewal of vows! They still love each other after 25 years so why do they need a service? Puzzled.

It was followed by a great boat trip on the Broads. The rain kept off and the sun appeared occassionally, but it was quite cold.

        Have a great day

Sounds like a nice day out yesterday Shiney. No I know that it will not hurt to continue to grow the peas under the cloches but for them it would be nice to see the sun once in a while. My carrots and beetroot and onions are coming on too under the cloche. I only bought two cloches but they have been invaluable. My runner beans are up about 9" already too. Everything is doing well despite the lack of sun. :)

Ha ha Lolli, you will have to put a notice on your front gate. Fresh laid eggs £x per doz. They might as well pay for their food. Amber has a lovely life. It's games all the time and other than that catching zzzzzzz's. She doesn't like listening to those fox cubs having a game outside my front door late at night and barks she wants to join them in their games. There's me at 2 am in the morning saying shut up Amber. Frightened she'd wake the neighbours up!:):doggieshmooze:

Good morning everyone on this lovely sunny day.

Late afternoon yesterday Mrs Shiney called me to have a look at the back lawn and there was a very large fox there - Oscar used to keep the foxes away. Unfortunately this fox was very poorly and, presumaby, had mange. All the back half of his body had lost its fur apart from the tip of the tail. He seemed a bit shaky as well - a sad sight.

On Saturday we received a cheque for £100, towards our open garden fund, from someone in the village. Some people are very generous :love30:

Today, someone is coming round who usually buys a couple of dozen Aquilegias. He likes to come early so he can choose the best ones. A few years ago he bought about 60!!!

Keep well and have a great day

          Good morning....
What a shame about the fox Shiney....only the other day i was thinking how we don't seem to see any mangey foxes these days but obviously they are still around:frown: round here they all appear to be healthy but i suppose where you live, being in the country they have to fend for themselves more...and live as 'proper' foxes should...what a sad sight:sad:
Fabulous donation:yes:.......I've really got to get the 'thumb screws' out to get my shifts changed for your open day...i sooo want to come....i'm still trying:dbgrtmb:
          Hope everyone has a good day...take care:SUNsmile:

It would be great to see you but we're a long way. I don't know what part of Yorkshire you are but it normally takes me about 3 hours to get to Scotch corner - driving fast. Some GC members intend to book in to either a B&B or the Premier Inn.

I have got to get myself geared up to visit Shiney's open day. I keep forgetting the date though. I shall have to look it up again. I know its soon. I have left my plants open to the skies today so am hoping this sunshine lasts.
