    Good afternoon everyone,

A very mild and dry morning (it reached 70F) but is now raining steadily.

I've had to take my car in today as it's poorly . It seems to have a very bad oil leak and they won't know what's wrong with it until they can take it apart :cry3:. It's bound to be expensive :wallbanging:

Did the mechanic suck in his teeth and draw in his breath! Oh dear Shiney. Probably the oil pump. I must book my car in for a service. Apart from the MOT each year she doesn't get much else done to her although I hardly ever use her but she ought to be looked over. Hope its just something simple Shiney.:)

It's our small local, privately owned, garage that has been doing our cars for over 30 years. We trust them and they always do a good job. :dbgrtmb:

    Good morning everyone,

What a beautiful day! :dancy:

The grass has grown like mad but nothing that five or six hours of mowing won't sort out.

    Have a great day

Good morning and what a beautiful morning to wake up to. It was a pleasure taking Amber out early. I can't believe how much that grass has grown already just a couple of days and it needs cutting again. I suppose I shall have to get on with it today as I have some friends coming for lunch tomorrow so I shall not be able to do it then. I'll be too busy indoors before they come. Might be nice enough to sit out tomorrow though, that would be pleasant.

Have a good day all. :)

    Good morning everyone....
It's sunny ,mild but very windy here...best of all it's dry:dancy:
You've got a long job mowing Shiney but it will look beautifull when it's done and then you can sit with a cuppa and take in that wonderfull smell...i just love it:dbgrtmb:
Moyra i'm sure you will be in luck to have a lovely afternoon in the garden with your friends tommorrow....there's talk of some nice weather on the way.....:SUNsmile:thats probably because it's my weekend on:frown:
I really need to crack on and catch up ,this weather has certainly thrown me for six this year....i was overly optomistic thinking we would have a spring like last year so sowed too early and as with most of us have had to keep our plants protected and held back...so now it's time for the big push:phew:...still got all my baskets and containers to plant up yet:yikes:....but it will all be worth it......
Take care everyone and have a lovely day:SUNsmile:

Loli at least we have got ahead with some of our growing but it is the likes of hanging baskets etc that you just couldn't push on with unless you had spare room in a greenhouse for them. My problem is that my garden peas are now as high as the cloche that has been covering them. Am I right in thinking that garden peas will take a certain amount of frost? Those and sweet peas. My beans really need either stringing or I might just put in some curly whirly stakes that I have then I can keep them short enough for me to reach! Will go and have a go at them now!

I have found the answer the sweet peas and the garden peas will take a light frost but a heavy frost and it will stop them dead in their tracks and of course the beans just cannot take a frost.

Hi Moyra....if you have any fleece couldn't you remove the cloches now and then throw the fleece over the plants if the temperature falls.....it is a bit of a faff but my beans and sweetpeas are out now as they have out grown their allotted space....i have fleece and bubble wrap on stand by just in case but thankfully no frost forecast here in the next few days:dbgrtmb:

The cloches are easier to fold back than putting fleece over them to be honest. I have opened up the beans so that they will have to have fleece over them and the sweet peas as well they will be easier to fleece. But the two containers with the garden peas and carrots, beetroot and onions are in it is easier to pull the cloche over them all. I have it sorted. The tobacco and tomatoes are in the cold plastic greenhouse. :)

      Good almost morning everyone,

Did a couple of hours mowing and cut a 100ft privet hedge as the babies have flown the nests. Got to check the laurel hedges next for fledglings.

I'll do more mowing in the morning.

      Sleep well :dbgrtmb:

Morning Friends and what a beautiful morning. Took Amber out early it was lovely and fresh. I did cut my grass again yesterday, just as well I don't have a patch as large as yours shiney. The friends that are coming today one lives in Rayleigh and I am going to ask her if she will be busy on the 26th to see if she can come with me to your open day Shiney so I wont have to drive alone. I will let you know.

Have a lovely day everyone. :)
