    Hallo GC philes,
wonderful calm day. Mr Shiney - how do you do it - with so little sleep? Hope it all goes well again today. I can hear the bikers in the distance making their way down from London to Hastings Old town on the seafront. They do goodly biker breakfasts down there - watch the gulls though!!
I'm reading Gardeners World and Gardens illustrated under the dappled shade of a Sorbus tree this afternoon - maybe a little :snooze: . Then, roast chuck tonight (ooops - sorry Loli) and a nice glass of Gewerzstraminer.

      Good morning again,

I've got quite a few things done outside on this lovely morning. It's just getting warm again and I'm going to take things easy for a few hours. Although I got to start checking all the cash boxes and do the paperwork and have them ready for this afternoon.

      Off for a cuppa now.

      Have a great day

We seem to be missing some posts from yesterday afternoon. One particularly where I thanked Mr and Mrs Shiney for their hospitality! And also Mrs. S. for her healing to my left knee which gave way while I was there. It hasn't hurt since. Thank you Mrs. S.
Another hot day. Hope it all goes well shiney you will be very tired when the weekend comes to an end. Both you and Mrs. S. have worked so hard to make it a success. Well done. I hate to confess but I am going to have a very lazy day apart from putting a load of washing on and then hanging it out to dry. I shall not be doing much else. Have a good day everyone.:)

        Good morning everyone

We've still got a lot of work to do (it will go on during the week) to clear up and sort out things.

Mrs Shiney is exhausted as she has done all the work. I just walk around looking as though I've done it :heehee:

Now that everything is over (sort of) I shall have to start watering in earnest. :phew:

Keep well, and have a great day

Well Shiney, if that wasn't a great successful weekend I like to know what is. You certainly both put everything into it. It's not easy entertaining lots of people so don't try and play your role down. I cannot thank you enough for the kindness you both showed to me. And I am certainly thinking seriously of doing it all again next year and I shall get better organized and probably bring someone along with me. I discovered where those posts went on another thread there are so many threads about your Open Day I got lost but as you say that's what happens when you come to shineyland. It was a brilliant visit and the highlight of my year. Thank you, thank you, thank you!:ThankYou::heehee:

Thank you all, again, for your support and the generous donations from some of you that weren't able to make it this year. :yay:

I hope you can make it next year. :dbgrtmb:

I've asked the flamenco dancers if they can do it again next year.

All our helpers did a fantastic job which allowed me to wander round for most of the time.

We'll be drawing the raffle this afternoon. I need to put the details of all the prizes into a chart and then we'll draw the tickets. When people bought their ticket they didn't need to keep it as all they had to do was write their name and phone number (our email) on the ticket.

As we draw the tickets out we write those details alongside the prize. We then start phoning the winners and arrange for them to pick up their prizes - if they are members of any of the clubs we belong to we just take them along. sometimes the winners live a long way away but they usually tell us to keep them until next year and they will pick them up at the Open Day again.

With something like 40 prizes, each stage takes quite a long time.

          Good morning everyone,

Its another sunny, beautiful day here....supposed to be HOT though, so lots of watering.

Had a busy weekend, as usual, got all the yard work done yesturday, and weeded.....I'm home today, but back and forth to Toronto the rest of the week, and on Saturday is Natalie's surprise bridal shower, so i'll be helping the girls set up for that, have to deal with University papers and tuition this week for Kait.

          Have a great day everyone.

Yes, I am not sure why it is logging us out...........some little blip that Nathan has probably got in hand.

Another lovely day. Put the rest of my tobacco plants out into the garden in grow bags yesterday so now they are at the mercy of the elements. It will be interesting to see what they do from now on.

Have a good day everyone. :)

yes Shiney, but it asked me to wait 12867 seconds before loading a photo on the "Only a rose thread" I think that's 7 hours + !! I don't think anyone is on duty ATM but I'm sure it has to do with the change over,

Jenny, we're using Nathan's temporary site whilst the main one gradually speeds up and this one won't take pictures being posted.
