That looks exquisite Mr Shiney. I like the sound of the soup too.
On a good Summer's day, I don't think there is a better country to be in,eating a meal outside with good company.

That looks delicious Shiney. I am sure you are the most perfect hosts to your long time friends.

Loli, it is wonderful to be able to allow Amber the freedom of the greens up the back of the estate where she is in no danger from traffic and often finds a friend to romp around with too. She then comes home as clean as when she went which is a bonus, no rubbing down with old towels to clean her up or showers where necessary.

Shame this weather is set to change again. Penny although it is not quite as hot here it does seem that your weather pattern is similar to ours as our rain is due back tomorrow.

Hope the Kandy's and WOO are all ok. Have a great day everyone. :)

I've just come in from mowing some of the rough area at the end of the garden. The grass was about 12" high and I had to weave in and out of the wild flower sections and noticed that the bee orchids are starting to flower.

I've given up (not even put the mower away but covered it with the wheelbarrow) as I'm (I think the technical term is....) knackered! :old: :heehee:

Having seen Shineyland Michael I now know what you're talking about. There is a lot of work there. If this weather is going to change again tomorrow though I suspect you will have to have another go later today. I cut my patch yesterday makes yours seem enormous. I know it is. Well hope you feel up to it later, take care. :)

Have been looking at bungalows to rent in Norfolk with long leases and happy to have a dog and there is one that is close to lots of fishing lakes. Steve is tempted but thinks as we have put so much money into redecorating this flat we should wait for the landlady to play her next card. I have to reluctantly agree for now but at least I know that there are places out there suitable for us three!!:doggieshmooze:

    Phew!! :phew:

Finished the mowing. This last lot was ten wheelbarrow loads (the wheelbarrow I use for grass has an extension on it that triples the size) so equal to 30 normal wheelbarrows :hate-shocked:

Now I've got to get dinner ready before going to the bridge club.

Moyra, it sounds OK but is it near the shops and amenities? Norfolk can be very rural.

It was a few miles east of Dereham and ten miles west of Norwich in a little village with its own pub, village hall, church school and church. It would have suited me wonderfully but Steve is worried about finding work......at the moment he has plenty, that is floor and wall tiling. I shall be patient and see what card the landlady plays next...............I hate to lose nearly £1400 worth of work we have carried out to this place over the last few months. £400 of that being materials. A grand on me paying Steve half his usual daily charges. So in effect we were sharing the cost of his labour even though I did my bit as well! Patience is a virtue. I am prepared to move with caution. :)

Glad you finished your mowing Shiney, that barrow addition certainly works. :blue thumb:

      Good morning everyone,

It's persisting it down at the moment - and I've got another funeral to go to today  (and another one next week). On the way to the funeral I need to pop in on Barry and sort out a form for him - I think it's just the Electoral Register form, although I re-registered him when he moved.

Thanks for your nice comments about that plate of food. It looks more attractive because of the yellow and peach begonia petals, which are edible and have a sharp citrus flavour. The trout pate only took 10 minutes to make six pots of it.

Keep well and have a great day

      Good morning,
off to the Hospice today where I work on Thursdays. I join the fund raising Dept./ Hospice Lottery office. 3 lovely ladies that are a real pleasure to bewith. I tidy up there window ledge plants ( they have 3 flowering orchids which , though I say it myself, are in peak form with my nuturing - they have orchid feed each week), do photocopying, banking, filing etc.etc. We have friends coming round to dinner this evening. Ham,turkey and roast pork pie in a nice short crust pastry I think will be in order and then we are all sitting back to view The Wall,Live in Berlin - a bit of seriously heavy rock!!
