Aloha and a very good morning to one and all,

It's sunny and warm this morning :dbgrtmb:

    Happy birthday Mr Loli :ccheers:

Yesterday was a very busy day. We went up to the big city and fitted a lot of things in. Starting off with walking from Liverpool St Station to visit Guildhall Art Gallery and the Roman amphitheatre. Then a light lunch at a cafe in the city before tubing it to Victoria and walking to Buck House to see the Queens diamond collection.

We then walked to Marble Arch to see the Bomber Command Menorial which was unveiled last week. Then it was back to Liverpool St and a walk through to Brick Lane (Banglatown) for a good curry before walking from there to the Tower of London where we had to be there by 9.30 for the Ceremony of The Keys which starts at 10 p.m. It was an interesting and very traditional ceremony that ended with a Coldstream Guard playing The Last Post (very evocative after having been to the Memorial).

Anyone can apply for tickets to the ceremony, which are free of charge, but there is at least a three month waiting list.

Then it was just a matter of getting a tired Mrs Shiney back home to her warm bed.

Shortly after we got home we had a power cut that lasted most of the night. Our freezer doesn't look too happy and is flashing a warning light at us  .

Now I have to try and fix the loo that has decided to stop working  - nothing to do with the power cut.

    Have a great day

    Aloha

    Good morning Shiney and all,
It sounds like you and Mrs Shiney had an amazing day...how interesting:dbgrtmb:
I wonder what caused the power cut....lightening maybe:dunno:...that happened here on thursday morning while i was at work....there the doors are all alarmed incase a resident leaves the home unattened so we were constantly manning the exits and doing head counts ....the power was off for 3 hours.....
I hope the contents of your freezer are still intact....and you get your loo fixed.:dbgrtmb:...
I'll be getting the caravan packed up ready for our little jaunt on monday but we are constantly checking the weather forcast as we are going in a valley next to the river Wharfe:rolleyespink: i can see it being quite an adventure:biggrin:
Mr Lolimac sends his thanks for the kind birthday wishes....he really enjoyed his day:SUNsmile: He's out on a gents night tonight so i'll have some peace:biggrin:
The weather looks a little more promising here today:yay:so i'll be able to catch up in the garden:dbgrtmb:
    Have a lovely day everyone....take care:SUNsmile:

Aloha Everyone, Still very swimmy this morning so have taken an antihistamine in case it is my ears playing up. Will have to go to the docs next week if this persists.

Beautiful morning here this morning. Loli that is a bit of a worry camping in a valley with this weather as it is. Lets hope it will clear and we finally get a summer.

Shiney, you and Mrs S certainly had a full and interesting day. I am off to walk Amber. Take care everyone and have a lovely day. Aloha :wub2:

Moyra, I hope the two of you had a good walk.

It sounds as though it's an ear infection but I think you should go to the doc anyway. Wish you better. :dbgrtmb:

Loli, take a boat with you :heehee: and enjoy yourselves.

      Aloha Everyone,

Shiney it is either my ears or it is the osteoarthritis in my spine at my neck which could be trapping a nerve to my brain which is starving the brain of oxygen. So I shall have to go to the docs. What causes vertigo by the way? could it be that?

Oh well no walks for Amber so far this morning she will have to go out on the patio if necessary until the rain leaves off.

Have a good day everyone if you can despite the weather.

      Take care everyone. Aloha:wub2:

      Aloha everyone,

I've just taken Mrs Shiney over to an open garden (it's open for the charity we support) where she has a stall selling her glassware, knitting and a load of plants. It's peeing down at the moment so I don't think they'll have many visitors unless things change completely.

I'll be going to friends for lunch and then taking them to the garden. In the evening we'll be going to these friends for supper. :dbgrtmb:

Moyra, there are many possible causes for vertigo. Sometimes a simple cold can cause an imbalance in the ear and sinus problems can help cause it as well. A common cause is the side effects of medication - read the instructions that come with your medication and see whether it's listed as a side effect or a contra-indication. If it's a side effect then, with the doctor's permission you may be able to reduce your dosage for a short while. If it's a contra-indication then the doctor may want to change your medication.

      I wish you better :dbgrtmb:

I've got some things to do before going to friends.

      Have a great day

      Aloha

Aloha, Thanks Shiney. I expect the doc will sort it out. I haven't had any change in medication lately so it would be strange for it to suddenly start now although that doesn't mean it couldn't. I'll phone the docs in the morning and try and get an appointment. I need to chase up my eyes and renal appointments, neither of which have come through!

Enjoy your busy day Shiney. Aloha:wub2:

Aloha WOO, we are the same as you WOO as I am only the other side of the thames from you in Essex. Getting a bit fed up with all the water laying in puddles on the lawn now never done that before. Still I guess we are quite lucky compared with those poor souls to the West and the North who have a lot of torrential flooding. Just managed to walk Amber while the rain had eased off a little. Got pretty soaked on her early walk this morning though. The Dogs do not seem to mind the rain. Hard work here not knowing whether to watch the Formula One Grand Prix or Andy Murray's Tennis Finale. How inconsiderate putting them both on together!:loll:

Well stay safe m'dear, Alloha :wub2:

      Good afternoon everyone,

I havn't been feeling to briliant this week s what i thought was a cold has turned out a bit bronchial and I am trying not to go to the Dr's as it will be another course of antibiotics like they usually give me so am trying to let it clear up on it's own without the need for meds as I have already had to take enough stuff for my shoulder injury without any more:frown:

      Mr Kandy has been downstairs watching the Grand Prix while I have been upstairs watching Andy Murray thrash Federer:snork:{He will probably lose now I've said that :biggrin:}

Will try to catch up with everyone as and when i can so hope you are all keeping well and are enjoying your Sunday:smile:

Ha ha Loli where you hidden them so Mr. L doesn't see them before you go? :loll:

I do hope this weather is going to dry up a bit for you so you get a decent break away.

Kandy, I am sorry to hear you are not at all too well. I hope you feel better soon without the need to recourse to more antibiotics.

It has dried up outside at last and the sky is blue, will it last I ask myself? Not for long I don't doubt.

Have a good evening everyone. Aloha :wub2:

Kandy, Mrs Shiney and I wish you lots better :dbgrtmb:

I've just brought her and all her stock back home and we shall be going off to friends soon. The garden that she was at is really lovely and I'll stick up a few photos later. There weren't many people there because of the weather, Wimbledon and Grand Prix.
