    Good afternoon everyone.

Woo,lovely photo of the Olympical torch runner, you have captured him very well despite having back problems and hope you are feeling better now:blue thumb:

Shiney sounds like you have been busy helping Mrs Shiney out with the houseowrk and the cooker cleaning and hope that your Soiree went off ok:blue thumb:It looks like you are both very busy at the moment both in the home and the garden. How did the new gardener get on,has he poasted the speed test?

Moyra, sorry i should have worked out what NFA meant as we get that at times on our results and if it isn't a good result it is flagged up in large red letters:snork: Glad to hear that is all ok with your blood results and keep up the good work as this disease isn't a pleasant one to have...

Loli,i forgot to say hope the Driffield show went off ok and hope that you had good weather.Sorry you have to go to work today.I used to hate it when i worked a seven day week as i always think you need the weekends to enjoy quality time with your loved ones after working all week....

Anyway,we have been to shop at Mr T's this morning and actually saw some flat peaches for the first time in my life:snork:Got another couple of £5 off of a shop for next week so that will be a saving. Now we have this heatwave arriving we are going to the lottie this afternoon,oh and we have just had our first proper early spuds this lunchtime which went down very well :snork:

    Have a good afternoon everyone:spinning:

Just served the students their lunch and shall get mine done now. We have brilliant sunshine :dancy:

Kandy, soiree is this evening :dbgrtmb:

Gardener OK. Not as experienced as Tracey and nowhere near as experienced as Mrs S, but she's willing to learn. It's always difficult for them when they don't know the garden or what we want from the garden.

Looks like I am a few miles too far to the South East! Still the sky is bright enough.

    Good morning everyone,

Shiney, that is what I said, hope the Soiree went off ok last night:scratch::biggrin: I had it in my head that your gardener was going to be a male one so hope that the new one gets to grips with your garden:smile: I can't remember why Tracey had to leave you?

Moyra, hope you get some sun today. It is shining here at the moment and i think it is going to be a hot one:smile:

We got to the allotment yesterday afternoon and i dug over some ground ready for Mr Kandy to plant out twelve nine star perennial plants that i have grown from seed:yes: Still have a few more growing at home but they are so slow because of the weather conditions and that is inside:snork:

We are in the process in getting ready for a day out up in Dove Dale so looking forward to some good walking.I had better go and get my shorts and t shirt on:biggrin:

    Have a good day everyone:spinning:

      Aloha everyone,

A lovely warm and sunny day today. I'll go out and do some more mowing in a few minutes, then finish off the privet and then, if I'm up to it, start on the pressure washing.

Kandy, she had to leave for family reasons.

      Enjoy your day out

Soiree was excellent and the weather held good for the eats outside. It's interesting to watch three pianists playing the one piano - all at the same time. There was also a young lad of 12 or 13 who was playing his own composition. It was very professional :dbgrtmb:

Keep well, everyone, and enjoy this wonderful Sunday.

      Aloha!

      Aloha everyone,

Beautiful morning here this morning. just put some washing out. I must be cookoo. I went to Pets at home on Friday and bought £20 of hide chews for Amber but £40 of fat balls, fat blocks, peanuts half shell coconut fat treats all just for my wild bird friends who happen to be mostly starlings. The sparrows do enjoy the fat balls too but it is mainly starlings. Occasionally a jay or magpie will come down but also great and blue tits. It is a shame that I do not see many blackbirds because of the cats around the neighbourhood. I do love to watch the antics of the birds though and the size of the starlings round here they are ginormous. I think they spread the word around amongst their kind too. Still I am hoping that this lot will last a little while, cannot afford to do that too often.

Enjoy your sunday whatever you are doing today. Take care and mind those bad backs.

      Aloha!:wub2:

Morning everyone, another hot one. I have stripped the beds of their sheets and the mattress and pillow protectors turned my lounge into a snow filled feather carpet. Steve must fight with his pillows because whenever I take the protectors off there are feathers everywhere. Just had to hoover them up and then hoover the pillows to get as much of the feathers that are sticking out as possible. Keep buying new feather pillows happy to pay extra for them but they just do not seem to put them in ticking which will prevent the feathers coming through. I think he spends a lot of the night pulling the feathers through too!! Oh well hopefully now they have been hoovered they will be more comfortable tonight. Lovely day for getting all this lot dry.

Have a good day everyone and don't overdo things in the garden, find time to find a shady spot and have a rest too. Aloha :wub2:

      Aloha everyone,

At the moment I'm sweating like a pig (too much information :nonofinger: :heehee:) after having been working in the garden since 5.30 - with just a break for breakfast. I've made two beds wider by removing some of the lawn. About 35ft x 3ft. They've now been dug, composted and very sharp edges put on them. There's no point in having a shower yet, until I cool down. So I'll make a cuppa and sit outside in the shade and read. :dbgrtmb:

Moyra, the beds I widened are in the front garden, along the right hand side when facing the house. Mrs Shiney wanted to put more plants in :rolleyespink:. You should save the wildlife and go over to latex pillows :snork:

Loli, that's what gardens are for - wandering around and looking

Keep well, everone, and have a great day

      Aloha!

      Good morning everyone:smile:

I was so busy yesterday that i never got round to coming on here.Must have been something to do with the weather:snork:

Loli,I sometimes do long posts then lose them and it is so annoying especially as it takes me so long to write them out:biggrin: Yes the sun is nice to see at the moment as oppossed to lots of the wet stuff.Hope you don't suffer in the heat too much when it is hot...

Moyra,we gave up with feather pillows years ago so don't have the feather problem, but have down quilts though. It was a good day for drying so i got loads done as well. How is Amber coping with this heat?I have a friend in the village, well too friends who both have Golden Retrievers and this heat does them in with their long fur.Hope you and Steve are both ok in yourselves:smile:

Shiney, sounds like you have the right idea with the early morning gardening.I often go out quiet early at weekends and get things done before Mr Kandy and the neighbours all get up.I do hate wasting a good day.The new border will hold lots of plants by the sounds of things:yes:

We had a brilliant day out up in Dove Dale on Sunday and it was not surprising to see so many people out and about. We parked up in our usual car park and then walked along the River Dove to Peggy's cottage in Milldale which was about three miles and then walked the same route back which was most enjoyable apart from hoards of humans:snork:

Hope Penny and Woo are both ok and enjoying this beautiful weather:SUNsmile:

Have a good day everyone:spinning:

      Aloha, everyone.

Kandy, it sounds as though you had a good day

I did just a little bit of pressure hosing yesterday and then decided I'd had enough. Apart from a few bits and pieces that I've already done in the garden this morning, I'm going to keep out of the sun today (apart from picking some beans and training the runners) and just do a bit of housework - but not a lot. I have no intention of breaking into a sweat today :heehee:

Keep well, and cool, and have a great day

      Aloha!

      Good morning everyone,

Good luck with the pressure hosing Shiney. Our neighbour did her wheelie bins the other day with her pressure washer and more water went up into the atmosphere than what went in the bins and the noise was horrendous as i sat trying to read my book:snork:

When Mr Kandy got into his car yesterday the temperature read that it was 35c but by the time he was nearly home it read 30c so it had gone down a tad:biggrin: It is going to be up in the 80's today they reckon so don't fancy being stuck down in London today:snork:

      Have a fantastic day everyone:SUNsmile:
