        Aloha everyone,

I didn't get a chance to say hello yesterday as we had a lot going on. I've been helping Mrs Shiney sort plants and other things out for all the flower arranging she's doing this week. She's got a demo today, a full day course on Saturday and she's running a Christmas wreath making seminar on Sunday.

She normally runs flower/plant seminars under the covered pergola but it's too cold for that. That way any plant mess is easily swept away. So this time it will be in our lounge :hate-shocked:. We shall need to cover the floor completely in dust sheets and set up tables to work on. Two six foot tables should do :fingers crossed:. All the plant material, mainly from our garden, will be in wheelbarrows on the patio so she can just open the patio doors and grab more as they need it. She has been to the plant wholesalers to pick up some extras such as Lotus seed heads. These can be used year after year. :blue thumb:

In between helping her, including getting loads of things out of the loft for her, I've had an enormous amount of admin to do ready for winding down for the holiday season.

Barry phoned me saying he has now got his dental costs refunded. He's entitled to totally free dental care but the dentist made a mistake and charged him. It has taken four months of letters, to three different NHS departments , to get it sorted. We're waiting on the result of the other problems I've been sorting for him - all different sorts of benefits he has been receiving all his life but they have asked loads of info. They appear to have lost all his records - another thing I'm kicking up a fuss over!

The ice and frost stayed all day yesterday and it is very frosty out now.

@Flumpy I never allowed my shops to get cold and the staff were always happy in the winter. I think I was the first shop in the area to install central heating - in 1964 :dbgrtmb:. Happy staff, happy customers, happy Shiney. :) I was also the only one to give extra days holidays for long term employees. One extra day per year for every five years working with me. By the time I retired most of my staff were getting between one and two weeks a year extra.

Keep well and have a great day

        Aloha!

Good morning all, I hope you are all feeling fit and well this morning. I am currently using turmeric and honey skin patches on my knee as well as volterol and it seems to be helping. The doctor phoned me last night to say that my kidneys have worsened and can we discuss what is best for me, should I see a consultant about it. I apparently haven't seen a consultant now for over 6 years. Not that they can do anything about it. I have too many other problems to worry about.

Have a good day everyone, well done @shiney for helping H with all her commitments.
Everyone, Stay warm and dry and above all keep safe and well. God bless all. :wub2:

            Morning all!:)

So sorry to hear of your recent test results @moyra . Let's hope the consultant can offer you something that can help. 6 years in medical terms is a long time and lots of new medicines and treatments will have been trialed since then...don't ever give up hope.:blue thumb:

Turmeric is very beneficial, have you tried making Turmeric tea too.? :grphg:

We're always here to lend an ear and chat here or via a pm.....sometimes it's good to mull over things with someone whose not directly involved.
            Take care.:spinning:

                  Evening all!:)
Oh dear that's not good having to work your day off @Flumpy
Why are you so busy, are a lot of people unwell or do you work in one of the those lovely chemists that sell interesting gifts, etc.
You can often get some nice things that are a ' bit different ' from those on the High Street.

We went to the cemetery to put some flowers on my Mum's grave this afternoon.
Went back to my Dad's and had a quick tidy round as he has some friends visiting tomorrow . Gave him a shampoo and hair cut too. He's already for Santa now!:xmasyay:

Thanks @Flumpy. My Dad is doing OK , it's a sad time but we keep him busy . He had some friends round this afternoon and I went to make tea/ coffees and supply mince pies and cake!

My avatar is a pic of some Christmas decorations I knitted last year.

Has your day been a hectic one again?
