Have you thought of moving to Dorset? I’m assuming your retired? It’s a lovely part of England,I would love to move to Cornwall but the house prices are crazy and getting a job that pays more would be hard too. :)

Morning everyone....Yes @wiseowl that 'missing' feeling comes sadly as part of the package of having family come to stay....still walking around our house expecting to see our sons.
Like I said earlier we only see them a few times a year...in fact we haven't seen No.2 son for just over a year.....really hoping they do come down for New Year, but still not sure:dunno:

Might go and prepare a bag of compost in readiness for seed sowing.

            Have a restful day.:bigthumb:

Hello @Flumpy and @Upsydaisy I have retired twice:heehee: we did look at some places in Corfe Castle once but then it would mean leaving other family and grandchildren nearby,he lives near Sandbanks which is to expensive for yours truly:smile:

We have never been pushy parents, we let the boys live their own lives. We spoke to them a couple of weeks ago and they said that they wanted to come...that was to fine by us of course, if they have changed their minds that's( sad but...) fine too. We fully appreciate the cost of rail fares and we also have a lot of rail service cancellations here too at the moment. They may have to do 3 changes. Even our youngest son had to do two trains and that was only from London....a hour away...straight up the line!! He had to change and hop on one coming from Manchester....unbelievable!!!

We are going up to them in March.:bigthumb:

Corfe Castle and Lulworth are lovely places.
When our boys were young and hubs and our builder friend were working weekends on our house I use to escape down their with the children. Hubs use to take our caravan down and my friend took her's too with her kids.....great times were had by all!!!:dbgrtmb:

Awe that’s good then, something to look forward to, I to hate having to change trains half way especially when you have to sprint from one to the other and feeling a little lost.

Have a lovely day all :spinning:

Son and girlfriend won't be coming. They were all for it but we have said best not to as son can hardly speak due to a heavy cold. :sick0026:Felt it best not to take any chances , son wasn't really up to travelling anyway, but hubs became very poorly last year from catching a cold and even if son had come down he wouldn't have been able to see the rest of the family especially his Grandpa!!

                            Shame but that's life.

So easy to spread across family and friends and would rather be overly cautious as far as my Dad and hubs are concerned.:bigthumb:
