    Good day everyone :)

Following yesterday’s wet day, today is :SUNsmile::SUNsmile:. Warm, calm and very pleasant without the intense heat of a week or two ago. :)

Pleased you weren’t hurt Flumpy....dash cams are sooooo vital these days. Enjoy the birthday celebrations tomorrow. Hopefully hubby will be better then too :)

Almost a chore now....need to get out there to keep up with bean and tomato picking :)

Thankyou Verdun, he’s got his two last antibiotics to take tomorrow so he said he won’t drink until he’s finished them, it’s his birthday on Thursday so I will drive him to a nice restaurant and he can have a drink then :dbgrtmb:

Today is the first day in a week that it’s not rained, if the grass is dry then I may cut the lawn

Have a lovely day all :grphg:

Gosh your poor hubs!!! Did he get hurt? How awful for him. People often knock the cameras but I have always thought them to be very beneficial. :dbgrtmb:

I'm glad to see you back too and sorry to hear about the accident

I'll never forget my father telling me about his experience with taking antibiotics and later having a beer. He said his system decided to show him what for. He decided being free with beer wind wasn't a good idea because he preferred not to frequently change his undies. I do believe that it was amoxacillan sp?

Oh dear @CanadianLori , your poor Dad! I always steer clear of alcohol and all meds whether advised to or not. Better to be safe than sorry.

Oh @Upsydaisy he just laughed about it. He's been gone now some 15 years. He really enjoyed the last 8 years of his life best. My Mum was a bit of a misery and after she died, he got to go and play billiards with his buddies and buy a car he liked and allowed to talk to the neighbours :) His name was Bond, James Bond. Really :)

                  Aloha everyone,

I couldn't mow the wild area yesterday because, once the knee high grass and plants was whacked right down I found the ground covered in apples and plums brought down by the strong winds the other day. That will now have to wait until Mrs Shiney has time to pick them all up (they go straight onto the compost heaps). Apart from having guests today and tomorrow she's busy getting ready for the horticultural show on Tuesday.

She has cut down on entries this year and says she is only entering 21 categories instead of her usual 25. I think she may decide to add to that . She's thinking of putting rhubarb into one of the veggie categories to see whether the judges know that rhubarb is a vegetable - it is. :blue thumb:

I haven't yet decided whether to make a soup for starters or do a simpler starter of smoked salmon with new potato salad and dressed with pea shoots (it went down very well with guests the other day).

Keep well and have a great day

                  Aloha!

Yes, @Upsydaisy his name was James Bond. One time when he was staying out of town on business ,my mother couldn't remember the name of the hotel where he was saying so she started calling the big ones and when she asked for him at the wrong ones, she would get the, "yeah right lady. And goldfinger's here too!" type of response.

Yes, @shiney, same thing about tomatoes not being a vegetable but a fruit.

Got dough for buns on their final rise.. I am attending a pot luck picnic and am contributing the buns and butter.

                                Aloha everyone,

Mrs Shiney's brother has been staying with us but I've just taken him to the airport.

It was a lovely sunny morning but just as I was going out to pick beans it started raining heavily. It's good for the beans but I might shrink so am staying indoors.

Keep well and have a great day
