Aw, sorry to hear that @Islander77, are you sure you haven't done my 'special little trick' and left them in a bag of compost you were using recently? :heehee:

Hope you feel better soon! :)

Like Armandi , a wheeled lawn feed distributor. Unsure of how much is coming out, but when you stop to turn round a whole shed load comes out :gaah:Put it on Freecycle and good riddance.

There is nowhere else to look. I do not live in a house but what they call a " demountable dwelling" one step above a caravan. Searched everywhere at least twice and feel a total failure now. These are the only tools I can use;and I can only work a few minutes a day anyways . and it will take at least a week to replace them. IF I can afford it. So depressed about it. I know where I last saw them and not there. Ah well! AH WELL! Sorry.

Not done any gardening until now; the weather has been too bad out here. I still have the edging tool and they were with that. Drat those leprechauns, Off to bed now.

I can now confirm that a large serrated cooking utensil/spoon is as good as a trowel for weeding and planting.. After a restorative nap I went out and cleared part of the front area and planted out 2 sturdy young lupin plants grown from seed last year. And cleared some of the plague of montbretia that took over in the years before I came here. The small lemon balm I was given last year is healthy. Too cold out there to stay out long but a refreshing. Oh and the seed trays I have inside are full of shoots!
Peas mostly and the broad beans heaving their way through...

Island leprechauns are a race apart! They hate newcomers! Get up to all kinds of mayhem. I have their number! The kitchen spoon is now off limits to them !

And early today I had bad news so was emotional. People very dear to me doing work with the very poor in India and Canada are struggling with the coronavirus situation. Numbers in India are too high to count and they are not safe, and BC in Canada has declared a state of emergency and they are losing their jobs. Apologies to all here.

There is no need to apologise, Islander, as has has been said to another well respect member just recently, that is what we're here for and what GC is all about. You're with friends here who really do care and sympathise when a person is down and needs to tell someone.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

No need to apologise @Islander77, we all get emotional from time to time and we're certainly living in challenging times ATM! :) But a lovely time of year for us gardeners with all the new shoots emerging and flowers opening to lift our spirits! Well done for improvising and soldiering on, that's the spirit my friend!

I feel your pain. I live on the edge of a communal field which rarely gets attention from the council, so the last 3-4 years I've been cutting back the brambles and nettles on the entrances, using a vintage billhook and sickle which I'd restored and which were my favourite tools. Last year I did some cutting back, went back indoors for a bit, and some illegitimate child nicked them while I was gone. *Very* not happy about that one.

Edit: Hey, the site changed my original wording to "illegitimate child". Now that's style, whoever thought of that one!

GC has a rule against profanity (quite a strict rule) but the software assists. :heehee: We also have rules about disrupting the harmony of the site etc. and we try to strictly but fairly uphold them. :)

If you can find some thing online and they are not too pricey, I’d be more than happy to purchase for you.

stealing your favourite tool. I have a over one hundred year Hoe, long scythe and Trowel, if I lost them for whatever reason I would be really upset.

If you grow enough stuff, you'll find a use for most tools or discover alternative uses for them.

The only tool I wasted money on was one of those for scraping weeds out of cracks between paving slabs because it was too wide to fit between them, but it was reduced to10p at Wilkos similar to this (but not s.s.).

Much, much better are home made tools made from small pointing trowels with grooves cut with an angle grinder.

Remove weeds at cracks and gaps

@Scrungee I have one of those, worked well on my patio area until the patio was replaced with an extension. Since then it's served as widget being used to reach things just out of reach, cleaning out various cracks and crevices and for cutting out deep rooted weeds growing in the base of plants.
